New Year’s Resolutions: Promises we make to ourselves at the beginning of each new year that we end up forgetting about mid-way through the new year. New Year’s is often associated with creating resolutions, and for many, there is a common misconception that New Year’s is the only time of year when you can set these larger goals for yourself. People often wait until New Year’s to set large goals for themselves, when in fact, goals can be set at any time of the year, not just New Year’s. So, to keep you inspired beyond January 1st, here are some smaller resolutions that can be made any time of the year.

1. Start every morning by drinking a glass of water

2. Call family and friends instead of texting

3. Write down memories and keep them to go back and re-read

4. Exercise (even if it’s just a light walk or some morning yoga poses) at least 2-3 times a week

5. Read more, even if it’s an online article or magazine

6. Write down three things before bed that made you smile that day

7. Spend less time on social media

8. Eat breakfast every morning

9. Start enjoying people and places without the need to take pictures or put it on social media

10. Learn some sort of new skill

11. Explore your surroundings, even if they stay the same every day

12. Put your phone away during meals

13. Print out pictures often

14. Make time for things you enjoy doing, even if you don’t think you have the time

15. Go to bed earlier and wake up earlier

16. Do something nice for yourself every week & put your mental health first

17. Do one thing every day to challenge yourself

18. Drink less caffeine and more water

19. Complain less and appreciate more

20. Eat a fruit or a veggie with each meal

21. Practice self-love and self-appreciation

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
