A Summary of the 2016 Golden Globes

Sunday was filled with glamorous dresses and flashy jewelry with 2016’s Golden Globes. To be quite honest, if you didn’t watch it, you didn’t really miss anything. There were however a few moments throughout the night you do need to know about to slay the next trivia night’s pop culture category.

Leonardo DiCaprio Actually Won Something!

DiCaprio walked away winning best actor in a drama for his performance in The Revenant and was absolutely ecstatic about his win.

DiCaprio Talked Politics in his Speech

Normally I would roll my eyes at any actress/actor who does this just because I would like to carry on with the already four hour award show but DiCaprio did so very eloquently stating, "I want to share this award with all the First Nations peoples represented in this film and all the indigenous communities around the world. It is time that we recognize your history and that we protect your indigenous lands and corporate interests."

Brie Larson Wins Best Actress

Larson won Best Actress for her role as Ma in the film Room where she probably had one of the best speeches of the night, ending her's by saying, "I'm sorry to anyone I forgot; I'll write you a thank-you card."

Taraji P. Henson Won Best Actress in Dramatic TV Series

Henson plays Cookies in the wildly popular FOX show Empire and hands out cookies as she made her way to the stage like an absolute queen.

There Was An Amazing Montage for Denzel Washington

He brought his whole family on stage but forgot his speech and glasses but without missing a beat was as charming as ever.
