With summer officially being over, fall has snuck up on us once again and so have the newest makeup trends. The cooler weather is approaching and it’s time to enjoy all pumpkin spice, oversized sweaters and Halloween movies. Around this time makeup trends begin to change and here is a list of a few makeup trends for the fall of 2016.
Dark Ombre Lips
The dark vampy lip has been a Fall staple for I don’t even know how long but a new twist to the classic dark lippie is an ombre effect using lip colors. My favorite way to achieve this is taking a dark brown or even black lipstick or liquid matte lipstick, applying it all over and then adding a deep or cherry red in the center. Beauty vlogger, Casey Holmes, does an awesome job with this in her "Ultimate Fall Makeup Tutorial" video. She uses Smashbox liquid lipsticks in the shades miss conduct and true grit.
Glitter or Foiled Eyes
This is a trend I love seeing. Bold eyes are such a statement and I love a look that has a lot of glitter in it. Glittery and foiled eyeshadows are coming in hot. It seems like every brand is hopping on this band wagon and producing their own version of a glitter shadow or pigment. A few of my favorite brands that carry glitter pigments and shadows include: MAC, Urban Decay, Violet Voss, Stila, Makeup Forever, Natasha Denona and Lit Cosmetics
Bold Colored Liner
This is definitely a trend I thought would stay exclusively in the summer months too, but according to a lot of top beauty magazines and influencers, bold liner is making it's way into fall time as well. Bold colored liner is scary but if you love changing up your look or are interested in trying something outside your comfort zone, colored liner is a great way to start. Too Faced Cosmetics recently came out with an entire line of colored liquid liners which are easy to work with and extremely pigmented. Color Pop and Anastasia Beverly Hills also have some really great cream colors that can be applied with an angled liner or eyebrow brush.
Dewy Skin
Again, a trend that we thought was going to stay in the summer related. When I think of fall face makeup I usually think matte and sculpted but this fall we are going to see a lot of fresh natural looks. Whether you opt for a dewy primer, foundation, setting spray..or all three, a natural glow is easy to achieve with radiant products. Some of my favorite glow products include, Laura Mercier's radiance primer and baked highlighting powders, Tatcha's luminous dewy skin mist, Loreal's pro glow foundation and Nars all day luminous weightless foundation.
