In college people have a lot of different opinions about Greek life, but pretty much everyone loves a frat star every once and a while. If you’re not in college you might not get Greek life yet, and if your school doesn’t have Greek life you can watch American Pie or some other fratty movie and you should be able to get the gist of it. Basically, you know a frat star when you see one, a person that looks the part, but more importantly plays the role, a friendly guy with an ego and a high tolerance for alcohol. Now, some people throw around the term “frat star” very lightly, and for the wrong reasons, but being a frat star is more than just the things listed below, it’s the charisma, the confidence, a certain grace in which they shotgun a beer, their friendly cockiness, that douche smile, basically, their overall swagger, but if you don’t have those things this is the best way to start.

If you're not in college, you can't be a frat star. Simply impossible. Stop being that kid in high school that thinks he's cool, you're simply not. Wait a little, you'll get your turn.
2. Actually be in a frat
This is essential to being a frat star, either your in one, you're rushing or you're pledging, not ifs ands or buts.
3. Vineyard Vines
If you don't know the pink whale, you've probably never been to a frat party, the Kentucky derby, or any upscale country club. Vineyard Vines has become a symbol of frattery everywhere. Oh, and if you don't know what it is, it's just an overpriced clothing store.
4. Patagonia
Another clothing store that has branded itself into the frat scene. Originally, a clothing store for seriously adventurous people, those that travel and hike, but now you can see them at frat parties everywhere.
5. Ray Ban Sunglasses
Got to protect your eyes from the sun, while looking cool. But, you're either an aviator guy or a club master kid, you can't be both.
6. Sperry Boat Shoes
Well, they don't necessarily need to be Sperry's but you'll probably need at least two pairs, one for parties and one for more formal affairs.Plus your party boat shoes will be ruined by the end of the year.
7. Cargo Shorts
These should be worn pretty much throughout the year, sometimes even in the winter. And the more colorful the shorts, the better.
8. Hawaiian Shirts
If you don't own two of these, consider yourself out of the running, especially if you don't have the confidence to rock them all day.

Not gonna lie, it really comes in handy to have money because otherwise, unfortunately, you can't really afford the whole look. Its financial discrimination at it's finest.
11. Played some sport in high school
You were probably on some sports team in high school, and it was probably lacrosse, could of been soccer, could of been football, could of been baseball, could of been basketball, but probably lacrosse. LAX bros for days.
12. Own a Jeep
Jeeps are ideal for riding with the windows down and the music blasting, also if you take off the doors of your car and happen to have your states sticker on the back window you know whats good.
13. Work the grill like no other
If you know how to work the grill, a thousand extra points, and if the meat is good, you win.
14. Polo Shirts
polos are essential for your everyday frat look, they're formal yet casual and make almost anyone look handsome. (notice the whale)
15. Listen to Classic Rock/Rap/Country Exclusively
Lol, Frat music is a real thing. But usually your afternoons are full of country and classic rock and the nights are for hip-hop, rap and occasional dance/pop music.
16. Bow Ties for Days
yeah ties are great, but bow ties, you can't beat them. Bow ties are a definite must have.
17. Ass Tat
Tattoos are a lot of commitment, but if you're a frat star you gotta be committed from the beginning. Also, you might want the tattoo to be your letters..
18. Pastels on Pastels on Pastels
Pastels are always good, especially in the spring. Wear more pastels.
19. Work on that Bod
Whether you are working out at the actual guy, or somewhere else, working on that bod is important, for your health and your ego.
20. Rock the baseball cap backwards look so hard
This single handedly may be the most important part of being a frat star, it's what people identify you with, your hat and the way you rock it. If you don't pull off this look, forget about it.
