20 Truths For Anyone Who's Addicted To Music

We all have things we can't live without. Some things are a little more dramatic than others. One thing you probably neglect to think of right off the bat is music. But think about it for a second... going through even one day without music would probably be super boring. We all listen to music more than we even realize, even if it's just the sound in the background while you're chatting with your friend at Starbucks.

Music has been around since the beginning of time, helping people release stress, utilize their creativity, and relax their minds. It can be a saving grace for all of us, whether we're singing along with it, falling asleep to it, or listening to it at the gym. Whether we realize it or not, life wouldn't be the same without listening to music. If you're anything like me, you'd literally cease to exist if music wasn't there to help you through life. What else would you do if you were by yourself... just stare at the wall?

If you realize that your life actually does revolve around listening to music, then this list will hit home for you:

1. You get weirded out when someone says they "don't really listen to music that much."

2. You listen to your favorite song so frequently that you eventually start to hate it.

3. Your headphones are literally the most important thing you own and you'd die without them.

4. You're so used to having earbuds in that you forget to take them out.

5. You find a way to relate every song to your life.

6. People tell you they saw you somewhere and tried to say hi, but you couldn't hear them because your music was so loud.

7. You can't go/be anywhere by yourself without listening to music.

8. You fight with your friends about whether Apple Music or Spotify is better.

9. You are actually willing to fist fight anyone who tries to take the aux cord from you.

10. You get genuinely offended if someone doesn't like the music you listen to.

11. You know songs other people don’t know because you're always discovering new music.

12. You then proceed to get super excited when a song you found first starts to become popular.

13. ...or you get bothered that the song you liked before it was popular is now mainstream.

13. You get angry when people try to talk to you while you're listening to music.

14. If you get an urge to listen to a song, you drop what you're doing and listen to it.

15. You actually get legitimately bothered when someone sings your favorite song wrong.

16. You get super excited when you show your friend a song and they actually really like it.

17. If you forget your headphones at home you might actually start crying.

18. You listen to many different kinds of music because one genre just isn't enough.

19. If you're in a bad mood, you know listening to music will make you feel better.

20. It's very strange for you to go even one day without listening to music.

If you've experienced any of these things, then congratulations, you're definitely addicted to music.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
