Hello, September. It's pre-fall, pre-holiday and almost post-summer. Halloween is officially "not too far away" and the real reason you know it's September is because everyone in front of you at Starbucks is ordering PSLs. And fall sports, don't forget about fall sports aka the heat of football season, where the NCAA and NFL parking lots and end zones are poppin'.

All year long, it seems like the year goes by in increments: New Year's, Valentine's Day, spring break, Easter, Fourth of July, then school starts then you can't wait for Labor Day's three-day weekend. Then after Labor Day, you're in September and everything runs together and falls under "holiday season" -- you don't even know if Halloween or Thanksgiving comes first.

'Tis the holiday season--the season of official and unofficial holidays. Here's what's trending, or about to be trending:

1. Official pre-season of holiday season means holiday food everywhere.

2. It's all trash talk.

Aka fantasy football and football league chit chat.

3. When you check the mail, you're like:

4. Whatever day Halloween is, it's no longer just a day of the week.

It's Halloweenday.

The most important day of the year.

5. Time for pumpkin carving.

6. And pumpkin songs.

7. In the midst of Halloween invitations, pumpkin carving, long Starbucks lines, fantasy drafts and holiday vacation planning, school work is also starting to pick up.

8. Everyone in front of you is ordering PSLs.

9. But sometimes they run out of the featured seasonal drink and everyone's like:

10. When trying to figure out your Halloween costume, you're like:

11. And then you acknowledge you may not identify with all of your Halloween costumes.

And they may not be that sexy. You just need to have a different one for each Halloween party.

12. Happy hour is happier than ever.

Especially when those evening temperatures are delightful and that fall air is fresh.

13. It's almost Thanksgiving and you start feeling that giving spirit that goes around.

14. But maybe not all the time.

15. Mid-terms or long work days before your holiday vacation got you like:

16. You're packing for holiday vacation and scrambling to gather all of the clothes your friends and roommates have borrowed:

17. Some people are already talking about Christmas.

18. But then December rolls around, you're like:

19. And stockings and Christmas starts to sound really good.

20. And then we remember that not everyone celebrates Christmas.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
