Camp is a very fun and important time in a person's life. At camp you can learn about plenty of things that can help you through out your life and also meet people who will definitely leave an impact on your life. As a counselor, helping the campers experience these things is amazing, but after camp is over, we can't help to think about a few things and here are some of those thoughts.

1. "Man did I miss real food"

Some camps have better food than others, and you're at camp, they obviously aren't going to have gourmet food, but coming back home to real food is definitely a plus.

2. "What day is it again?"

When you're at camp it's very easy to lose track of your days because you're just constantly doing things.

3. "It feels nice to sleep in my own bed"

Sleeping in a random, not comfortable bed can definitely get uncomfortable after a few days.

4. "I miss my campers"

I have said this line more than I'd like to say.

5. "I really need to do laundry"

After a few days at camp your clothes are probably nasty and just need a nice long wash.

6. "What's going on in the world?"

Often at camp you're cut off from the day to day world and by the time you come back you have no idea what's going on.

7. "What even is sleep?"

At camp as a counselor, you probably are just a sleepless zombie at that point.

8. "How I love coffee"

Since you have slept so little, at this point you're probably living off caffeine.

9. "I can swear again!" (Preceded by a medley of curse words)

Cursing is definitely something that is missed dearly while at camp.

10. "I really did miss not wearing shoes while showering"

Camp showers are disgusting and you need to wear shoes while using them but coming home and not wearing them is a great feeling.

11. "I need to take the longest shower"

Also talking about showers, a nice long shower is definitely something that is needed after camp.

12. "I'm about to sleep for the next 24 hours"

Once you get home from camp you realize how tired you really are and how much you need to sleep.

13. "I miss my campers"

Again, after camp you realize how much your campers actually impacted you as a person.

14. "Look at all of these new Instagram followers"

If you are a counselor for an older camp then expect to have all of those campers follow you on social media.

15. "Wow I look like a mess"

When you get home from camp and look in the mirror you realize how much that lack of sleep has really affected you.

16. "Why couldn't it have been longer?"

Camp is just never long enough.

17. "Did I really leave an impact on any of those campers?"

This is a worry that everyone has throughout life, was anyone actually helped by me being there?

18. "I hope my co counselors are doing well"

These are the people that you worked with at camp and grew close to, it's obvious that you would think about them.

19. "I miss my campers"

Okay, I miss them a lot.

20. "I can't wait until camp next year!"

At this point, you just have to think about how you'll be back at camp in no time.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
