Turning 20 can be pretty scary - you're practically adult (who really hasn't reached "the real world" yet), you're learning how to do things on your own, and just trying to survive balancing your social life with academics. Often, we are led to believe that once we're past 18 and 19 years old, we have to start acting like an adult and making mature decisions, but here is a list of certain things you don't have to let go of just yet:
1)The Disney Pandora station
Strangely, I will listen to Disney songs more often to reduce stress now that I am in my 20's.
2) Or watching Disney movies, etc
I’m sorry, but you are never too old to watch Disney movies, so I will continue to do so.
3) The stuffed animals on your bed
I simply can’t give up on that one stuffed animal that was there through it all. Besides, they look great next to all those decorative pillows. Let's face it, they make great cuddle buddies.
4) Visiting your high school
I may be a little older now, but it is so nice to let my teachers know how I’m doing and what I’ve been up to since high school ended. So go visit them! They'll appreciate catching up with you.
5) Going out to eat with family members
I won’t be afraid to out to lunch with my grandma, out to dinner with my family, or getting ice cream with my aunt. Family comes first.
6) Making silly faces for pictures
I will continue to be a goofball no matter who I’m with. Unless of course, it’s my boss or someone of higher authority.
7) Wearing feetie PJ’s
Feetie pajamas for adult sizes are the best creation ever invented and I'm sure I'm not the only one who owns a pair or two.
8) Ordering extra toppings on desserts
Life’s too short to count calories all the time. Order extra sprinkles, chocolate syrup, and that extra cherry. You won’t regret it.
9) Asking my parents for advice
I’m still struggling with certain decisions when it comes to spending, saving, or making plans. Parents are always there, as long as you continue to let them.
10) Those craft projects sold at craft stores
If I want to paint that birdhouse, or make friendship bracelets with best friends just like old times, I’m going to go for it. Besides, who can stop me?
11) Making dance parties by yourself
We’ve all done it. It’s so awesome to find old CD’s and jam out when no one’s home!
12) Finding time to sit on a swing or ride bikes
There's no better feeling than getting fresh air while doing old activities from the past. You better believe if the Cupid Shuffle or the Hoedown Throwdown comes on at some type of party, I will be at the very front doing the dance that comes along with it.
14) Ordering chicken fingers and fries for every time you go out to eat
This has been and most likely will always be my "go-to" meal when the fancy food comes out.
15) Doggie-paddling in the pool
I’ve learned to accept the fact I won’t ever swim properly, and the doggie-paddle is just something I’ve always been used to.
16) Eating fruit snacks that are cartoon-themed
Sometimes we need a quick snack for work or college, but these are available in any food store so we might as well enjoy them.
17) Going to the zoo
I won’t miss an opportunity to see those animals I learned about in elementary school, and the zoo is always a fun place to be at for all ages!
18) Wanting a trampoline
If you wanted one too - good, I’m no the only one. I am not ashamed to say this dream of mine still exists.
19) My faith
Life would be so much more beautiful if we all had faith like a child. We need God more than ever now that we are heading into a new chapter of our lives.
20) Planning my dream wedding
Now that I’m in the age category that may indeed introduce me to prince charming, I better keep planning that wedding that has been saved for a while on Pinterest!
