20 Things To Thank Your Older Brother For

“There’s no other love like the love for a brother. There’s no other love like the love from a brother.”

Having a brother is an absolute blessing even on the days when it doesn’t seem like it. You have someone who’ll always be by your side and support you, loving you for the rest of your life. There may be fighting and they may be a pain but at the end of the day, they are still family and always make you feel loved. Here’s a thank you to my brother for all he does for me. I know we’re 10 years apart but you’re still able to relate to everything and help me out when you can. I don’t think I ever really tell you how much you mean to me and how much I appreciate you. I know since I’ve left for college and you’re working all the time we don’t see each other all that much but that doesn’t mean I love you any less. Sometimes it's nice to live in your shadow but it's great when the light shines on me. It's because of you that I am who I am, I'm truly the heads to your tails.

  1. Thank you for always being there for me.
  2. Thank you for always being down to see a movie with me (even when it’s something you couldn’t care less about plus you could also use a good nap time).
  3. Thank you for making me a stronger person.
  4. Thank you for always being down to just hang out or get food (when you aren’t working).
  5. Thank you for protecting me and standing up for me.
  6. Thank you for listening to me complain and whine about things.
  7. Thank you for teaching me how to stop drop and roll (when you're threatening to throw me out of the car).
  8. Thank you for all your advice and input.
  9. Thank you for making fun of me and messing with me.
  10. Thank you for telling me when I’m being stupid.
  11. Thank you for all the times you've tried to sell me to the circus or zoo (monkey's are my favorite animals).
  12. Thank you for making me learn to play chess (which I can win at now).
  13. Thank you for the constant challenges and competitions.
  14. Thank you for being the first one to ride with me when learning to drive (see you survived!).
  15. Thank you for always trying to make me be a better person.
  16. Thank you for forgiving my mistakes.
  17. Thank you for not telling me when I look like the wicked witch of the west even though my hair speaks other volumes.
  18. Thank you for being one of my biggest supporters (next to mom and dad of course).
  19. Thank you for being my best friend.
  20. Thank you for being you and loving me.

I know I make mistakes and I’m not perfect but thanks for always being there for me, you’re always only a text or phone call away (when you actually choose to answer). I’m so lucky to have such an amazing brother like you and I don’t know what I’d do without you. You're a real inspiration. Thanks for being you and don’t ever change.

P.S. We have absolutely no pictures of us together grown up and that needs to change.

Much Love,

Nadeya

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
