20 Things I Have Learned In 20 Years
Aindrila Haldar

In the last 20 years I have been through a lot. A lot, meaning what a normal child would go through. An awkward and rebellious middle schooler/teenager, to being a struggling beginner at adult-ing. I am forever grateful to the opportunities that I have gotten and the experiences I was able to experience. Here are some things that I have learned in the last 20 years in my life!

1. If it makes you nervous, or challenges you then it is definitely worth doing it.

2. What you choose to give power to will have power over you. So do so, thoughtfully

3. Do what you love, do a lot of it and never regret one bit of it

and don't let anyone stop you from doing what you love.

4. Never take crap from others, stand up for yourself and what is right.

5. Timing is everything and everything happens for a reason

6. Your feelings are a 100 percent valid.

You are allowed to feel the way you choose to and if that means you need time to heal then you should take as much as it takes.

7. The most beautiful things in life are moments and feelings

So, share them with the people who always bring you up and whom you love.

8. What you see in others is a reflection of what you see in yourself.

9. Always live in the moment and cherish the present.

leave the past to the past and the future for the future, because your present will define your future.

10. Don't focus on the negative in any situation, it won't leave any room for the positive, and it will not help the situation in any manner.

11. Learn to accept and love yourself before you give your heart to others.

It makes heart breaks less heart breaking.

12. Accepting that some things will never go back the way they used to be.

13. Never look for happiness in others, find it within yourself.

14. Don't complain too. Rather, be more grateful!

If you don't like something then work to change it.

15. Surround yourself with positive people.

It also helps having a positive outlook on life which is so so so important

16. Experience heartbreak and be sad. You're allowed to be.

And on the positive side, it will make you stronger and grow as a person.

17. Not everyone will love you or like you, even when you're at your best.

That is how you find your true friends and it isn't your job to make people like you anyways

18. Appreciate the little things—the most simple of the simplest pleasures in life.

it will only bring you more joy.

19. Travel and explore the various parts of the world. See the world with a new perspective or a new set of eyes.

20. Be patient! Everything worth having takes time.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
