20 Things That Will Happen When You Return From Break

As the beginning of a new semester approaches, I can't help but notice that all of the group chats with my home friends are slowly losing members one by one and the group chats with my school friends are becoming more and more active. For some, (like me) this will be the last semester in college and the time is bittersweet. There are so many things that you have to accomplish from your final semester bucket list that it can be stressful to decide what you're going to do first. Inevitably, though, some things will just happen that are outside of your ability to plan, but you won't be mad about it at all.

1. You'll see your roommate again for the first time in a month and tackle her in an "I MISSED YOU SO MUCH" hug. Or if you're a guy you'll do an enthusiastic handshake.
2. You'll try to unpack all of your stuff, but right when you're about to get in the zone, your roommate will ask if you want to make the first fast food run of the semester. Only a heartless fool would say no.
3. A text will arrive from your friend to inform you that this semester is the one, and the Harry Potter movie marathon that you've been planning since freshman year is going to happen.
4. You'll contemplate switching classes right before the first day because you're not sure if you should take the class you're really interested in, or the easy A.
5. You'll see the people of whom you're not really a fan and have to ask about their breaks while pretending to care about the answer.
6. You'll party every night of syllabus week.
7. You'll stay late and then crash in your friends' rooms because you have nowhere to be in the morning.
8. Video game or movie/wine nights will continue.
9. You'll think about buying textbooks and then laugh that thought off.
10. You'll get back into the swing of your frat/srat or clubs and the drama will pick up right where it left off.
11. You and your roommate will make a pact to "never drink again."
12. You and your roommate will make a pact that this is the semester you'll find your husband or wife.
13. Both of you will forget your pacts within 48 hours.
14. You'll fantasize about the return of dage season.
15. The temperature outside will be 11 degrees and you'll promptly decide that syllabus week isn't important anyway.
16. You'll kick yourself when you realize that you forgot your favorite article of clothing at home.
17. You'll scramble to get your spring break plans together.
18. You won't even care about how small your shower is because you're so happy to be back at school.
19. You and your roommates will make a full celebration when the first episode of your favorite TV show comes on and you can continue to watch together.
20. You'll make a list of goals for this semester, whether physically or mentally, that will be forgotten soon enough.

Whether it's the last semester of your freshman year or senior year, spring semester is always a great time. Embrace every day of it and keep reminding yourself that it's less than two months until spring break!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
