Every day I am forced to remind myself to be a normal, not terrible person. I've compiled a list of helpful reminders -- somewhat of a cheat sheet with easy access so that I really don't have an excuse not to listen to it. Somehow things seem much more official when they are written down.
- Cool it with your Netflix intake. You watched 10 seasons of "Friends" in two weeks, and I don’t think that’s healthy for you. Start learning to watch Netflix in moderation (until you find a new series to binge-watch).
- Remember to eat your gummy vitamins every day, and don’t eat more than the recommended dosage, no matter how much it tastes like candy.
- Stop spending so much money on food; you went grocery shopping last week for a reason. Don’t eat dinner at Panda Express when you have a perfectly good TV dinner waiting for you. Don’t do it.
- Try to stop tripping in front of strangers.
- Become aware of the faces you make while you are walking.
- Remember that even though you have sunglasses on, turning your head is usually a sign that you’re staring at someone.
- Twizzlers don’t count as a meal.
- You can’t buy every single Christmas sweater you find. You really just have to stop.
- Just because a hamster is $10 on Craigslist doesn’t mean you have to have it. I know, it’s only $10… maybe you could get it. We’ll talk about it later.
- Sitting on the couch does not count as exercise.
- Watching "Grey’s Anatomy" isn’t the same as studying, no matter how much you learn.
- Going to class doesn’t really count if you fall asleep.
- You also need to start being more careful with your electronics, because if you drop your phone one more time it’s going to break for good.
- Maybe you should start watching the news more.
- You have to stop saying the word “nutso,” because it is embarrassing.
- When you are in public, you have to try extra hard to not be awkward, because your friends are starting to get embarrassed.
- Do more productive things.
- Do less napping.
- Disregard number 18.
- Read through this list every morning to remind yourself that you kind of suck a little, so just step your game up and stop spending too much money on coffee.
