The various stresses of daily life often do a great job at blinding us from the "good stuff". What do I mean by "the good stuff", you may wonder? Basically anything that has the minimally remote chance of making you smile. On a regular day, there are so many more good things that happen to us than there are bad. However, we are so focused on trying to solve our worries, that we set the "solved" issues aside and cram up the negative ones. So how do you avoid shadowing the good with the bad? I encourage you to read below for a textual, life-changing refresher of the "good things" in life that will most certainly bring you back to the positives ;)

1. Smile because someone really important to you out there thinks you are beautiful/handsome.

2. Smile because a simple action of yours in the past two days has caused someone to do the right thing.

3. Smile because there is more than one person that looks up to you.

4. Smile because your footsteps through life are being followed by those who admire you.

5. Smile because you know that the people that are mean to you are just jealous of the amazing person you are, and they are just scared to show that.

6. Smile because how hard you fight for what you want is incredibly admirable.

7. Smile because you've put yourself out there to help someone you love.

8. Smile because you understand you were brought to this Earth do to great things, and you´ve already started just by being here.

9. Smile because you have definitely achieved more than 30 things in life.

10. Smile because you unconsciously set goals for yourself, because you believe in yourself.

11. Smile because you are always moving forward.

12. Your smile is contagious and no matter how rare, it brightens up a room.

13. Smile because all of your friends have at least one fun memory with you, and that means you are fun to be around!

14. Smile because you are healthy and sane.

15. Smile because puppies exist.

16. Smile because you know are aware that after a hurricane there will always be a rainbow.

17. Smile because you are special.

18. Smile because someone cared enough about you to raise you and watch you grow every step of the way.

19. Smile because the sun is shinning over you (no matter how many clouds).

20. Smile because you are alive.

It is ok to have issues thinking positively, it is really just a matter of consciously bringing it back when we feel the feeling fade.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
