Getting back to school is only a couple weeks away, so let's start brainstorming about some very important Geneseo traditions we have so dearly missed over the summer. Obviously, there are more things to do, but here are the most important to me personally.
1. Get a garbage plate.
We all know we missed UHots, even if you say you don't. You're a liar. Get yourself over to UHots, and get A GARBAGE PLATE BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.
2. Get a cheesy melt.
The Same eatery, different meal. UHots offers this thing called a cheesy melt and I know I will be getting one the first weekend SO you should too.
3. DIRTY WATERS.
The Idle has so much to offer, but the most important drink and many people's drinks of choice are dirty waters. Scurry on over to the Idle and get this concoction ASAP.
4. Hit up the new gay bar.
The Y bar and grill is where the old SeaCow Grill was, but is already WAY better. I know I will be there immediately, so I will meet you there?
5. Wegman's.
If you're from downstate, you have really been missing the purity and beauty of Wegman's. Even the store brand peanut butter there is good. When I ran out near the beginning of the summer, I knew my happiness had come to a close.
6. Mia's.
Mia's is good for a little-drunk pizza, we all know it, even though we don't want to say it. And how could I forget the free cups of water they give out on weekend nights?
7. The library.
The library is a social haven. Yes, it's good for studying, but if you want to people watch or meet up with some friends, this is the place.
8. Village Cafe.
AKA Bank Street. Time for some pancakes or buffalo chicken wraps! Whatever your meal of choice is, Bank Street has it and it's pretty damn good.
9. Mac N' Cheese at Fusion.
The one night a week that Fusion offers mac n' cheese is LIFECHANGING. It tastes so good and deserves so much more credit than it is given.
10. GFR.
GFR is a great place to bring the rents when they come to visit and a great place to go for a cheap, but still great hungover breakfast with the squad.
11. The Statesmen.
I still have no idea if the Statesmen will ever be open to minors again, but if it is, we should all be there shaking our booties the first weekend. We all know it's the best (and sweatiest) weekend.
12. Starbucks.
Yes, they have Starbucks everywhere, but Geneseo is home to a lot of us. It's a lot better with your school friends, let's be honest (and with a meal plan and not real money).
13. The Gazebo.
Sunsets anyone?
14. Byrne Dairy.
There is no Byrne Dairy by me, so I am hyped to get back to Geneseo and get some ice cream while it's not -13824283198 degrees.
15. Cricket's.
Waffles and coffee, need I say more?
16. Slurpees.
The 7/11 has everything, but the most important things are cheap coffee and SLURPEES. So maybe give yourself a little workout (or not) and reward yourself with a Slurpee.
17. Sweet Arts Bakery.
Good for a sweet little breakfast on the way to class, or a date with someone special. Bakeries are important and so is Geneseo, there you go.
18. Paul's Balls.
The name may seem like some sort of sexual innuendo, but if you go to Geneseo, you know what a ball is. And you know you will be getting one or more as soon as you can when you return.
19. GO OUT.
Get your butt out on a weekend and have a little fun, in whatever you want. But do something, college doesn't last forever.
Two weeks and counting until we are back in Geneseo. Count them down!
