19. It's the number of kids the Duggar family has and it's the eighth prime number. Other than that, I'm not sure what's so special about 19. It's been said that 19 is a quite possibly the most awkward age in existence. You've surpassed the hype of lottery tickets and the freedom to get ink on your skin, but you're stuck in the teens and still not considered an adult. It's like being 12 all over again; awkward and uncomfortable.
This week, I get the privilege of entering the wonderfully bland age of 19. In honor of this affair, I decided to construct a list of things I've learned so far in my (almost) 19 years of living.
1. If the hot light is on at Krispy Kreme, it's almost a sin not to stop.
Life's too short to not get hot glazed donuts once in a blue moon.
2. Find out who your friends are.
This will happen naturally, but never settle for friends who don't make you feel like a million bucks. You deserve friends who encourage, love and inspire you to be the best "you" you can be.
3. Kindness is always the answer.
Even when it's really, really, hard. Kindness is still the answer.
4. Take. Risks.
You'll always wonder what could have been if you don't.
5. Worrying gets you no where.
It doesn't fix the problem, so you might as well just let it go.
6. Your mother is usually right.
Yeah, I said it mom.
7. Image is far greater than reputation.
8. There's nothing a Moe's burrito can't fix.
9. Brick walls are the best backdrop for Instagram pictures.
Random? Maybe. Extremely beneficial information? Heck yeah.
10. Listen more, yap less.
11. Good things come to those who wait.
12. Actions speak so much louder than words.
Show the people you love that you love them, don't just say it.
13. Don't have such high expectations for everything.
If you do, you're bound to be disappointed.
14. Don't be so hard on yourself.
Sometimes you are your own worst critic. Don't be.
15. It's okay to fail.
Just make sure it doesn't happen again.
16. Always hold the door for people.
Unless they're twenty feet away. Don't do that.
17. Live on the edge a little.
Like eating cookie dough straight from the package.
18. Quality over quantity. Always.
19. Learn to truly and wholly love yourself.
Embrace each and every weakness and take pride in your quirks, *cue Love Yourself*
