18 Phases Of Summer As Told By Charlie Day

With summer right around the corner, we're all experiencing some things we haven't gotten the pleasure of experiencing in a while. From seeing your home friends to going back to work, the summer is filled with excitement from the start to the end. You don't have to have watched "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" to enjoy this article, however, if you haven't seen it, you should probably spend your first few weeks of summer binge watching it because it's arguably the funniest show on television. For those of you who know and love Charlie Day, here's an article about how he would describe the phases of summer.

1. When you first see your friends from home after a long semester apart.

2. And running into other people you haven't seen in even longer.

3. Getting comfy back in your room at home.

4. Realizing how much freedom you have.

5. The first party you go out to with your home friends.

6. And reforming your unstoppable drinking game teams.

7. Looking cute in your summer clothes.

8. Heading back to your summer job

9. Remembering how much you hate your summer job.

10. Going on lots of fun beach trips

11. Getting bored halfway through summer and deciding to try and solve a problem in society

12. Realizing you aren't an inventor and trying to plan a cheap vacation instead (that never ends up being as great as you thought it would be).

13. Making outrageously bad decisions but sorta being like "whatever" because it's summer.

14. Attempting to play sports with your friends.

15. Trying to land yourself a summer fling.

16. Relaxing a whole lot.

17. Starting to get really annoyed with your home friends and ready to head back to school.

18. Finally moving back to school.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
