Leaving for college for the first time was an experience like no other. I can specifically remember laying in bed the night before move-in day just imagining all the what-ifs. What if I experience this.. What if I meet my very best friend? What if I meet the love of my life? What will my classes be like? There was so much unknown, and it was terrifying but so exciting all at the same time. Freshman year was one that I will never forget and I know that I was put right where I was supposed to be. Here are some thoughts one might have after this great year of experiences and learning.
1. Wow, college is so much better than high school.
2. I really don’t miss dining hall food.
3. *pats self on back for not gaining the Freshman 15*
4. I can’t believe that went by so fast
5. I feel like I need to sleep for three weeks to catch up on sleep.
6. I really appreciate when my parents buy me things like shampoo.
7. I also really appreciate getting to play with my dogs. (Can we make pets in dorms a thing?)
8. You laugh at all the high schoolers who still have a month left of school when you are on summer break.
9. You are really proud to rep your school (and sorority) gear in your hometown.
10. I really appreciate free things (welcome week rocks for that).
11. I’m glad I chose to do my paper instead of go out that night.
12. I’m glad I chose to go out sometimes.
13. I am really grateful for things like Skype.
14. I really miss all the friends I made.
15. I really learned a lot about who I am this year, standing strong in my beliefs, and being independent.
16. Cheesy as it sounds, my school town has become my home away from home.
17. I can’t wait to go back.
