17 Stages Of Your Road Trip Home From College As Told By 'The Office'

Once school ends for the year, the only thing standing between you and your own room is the trek home. Yeah sure you could fly, but what is the fun in that?! A road trip with your closest buddies is the only way to kick off the summer. I love a good road trip. Don't get me wrong. But going on a road trip is kinda like eating at McDonalds: It sounds really great in the moment but after a few hours you might experience some regret. So, just so you know what you are really getting yourself into, here are the 17 steps of any long car ride home from college as told by our favorite Office characters.

1. EXCITEMENT

Aaaand you're off! What could be more joyous than you and your closest companions driving for hours with the windows rolled down and the music blasting? This is going to be great.

2. Jams

Who knew you could perform an entire dance recital in only 5 square feet of space.

3. Food run

Fast food may not make you feel the best later, but your grumbling tummy will thank you for the mean time. Plus, you have no time to waste.

4. Deep Talks

The open road leaves you plenty of time to have some really real heart to heart conversations with your car buddies... The extent of your "deep talk" is up for interpretation...

5. Gas

Hopefully you're driving a Prius otherwise the amount of money your broke college ass spends on gas will probably be excruciating. Come to think of it, I don't think this only applies to road trips.

6. The Switch

When your back begins to ache, butt falls asleep, and your right foot begins to tingle, the thought of the open road doesn't sound as appealing. If you're lucky, your travel buddies will give you a break and take over the wheel.

7. Naps

After driving a ways, the calming noise of the wheels humming on the smooth pavement can soothe any sleepy camper into some sweet dreams...

8. Complete Discomfort

...but waking up soaked in your own sweat with a kink in your neck is probably the worst feeling. Ever.

9. Realizing you are not even half way home and still have 3+ hours to go

Michael, you stole the words right out of my mouth.

10. Chill music

Game time is over. You definitely need music to keep you awake, but your headache is not going to tolerate the techno pop that has been blaring for the past hour.

11. Silence

At this point you've run out of things to talk about as well as energy to even begin to form a coherent sentence.

12. Stir Crazy

The only thought running through your mind is, "Why did I think this was a good idea?"

13. Desperately trying to pass time

And suddenly, the pens in the middle console and the empty Red Bull cans in the cup holder became your own personal drum kit.

14. Complete insanity resulting in the loss of innocent bystanders

Lol JK... But sometimes you wonder...

15. Pee Break

You've had to pee since you pulled out of the last gas station but it's been 2 hours since you've seen civilization. Once you finally see the rest stop sign on the horizon, the thought of a public bathroom never seemed so sweet.

16. Home stretch

Crying on the inside, smiling on the outside. There is a glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel.

17. SUMMER!!!!

Finally, you have made it, home sweet home.

And just like that the season of warm nights, long laughs, and sweet memories has arrived. Safe travels to all those daring enough to hit the open road. You are the real MVP's.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
