16 Signs You Went To Walsh University
Walsh University

Now that I am a Walsh University graduate, I thought I would put my four-year college degree to good use by writing this article about my school. Walsh has some unique qualities that only we understand as students. Some of these characteristics give Walsh a neat differentiation from other schools while other features just leave us scratching our heads.

Let’s take a look at some of the things that make the Walsh experience so unique and prove you went to the Catholic University of Distinction in North Canton, Ohio.

1. Whenever you took a trip or traveled off campus in a small group for a university event, you always rode in the white vans.

2. College students are natural night owls, so whether it was a night on the town or pulling an all-nighter, Taco Bell was always the go-to midnight snack.

3. While the Walsh campus is located at 2020 East Maple Street, you always found what seemed to be half the campus at a place called the Basement.

4. Fuel Perks were something that you expected with every purchase because Giant Eagle was the place for all grocery purchases.

5. For business majors, we loved all of our professors, but everyone had a special place in our heart for Professor Ezzie.

6. When talking with friends from other universities, you always laugh when they complain about how far they have to walk for class because it takes you five minutes to get from Birk to the Chapel, fully across campus.

7. When finals week comes around, our library is a nice place to study, but you won't be able to find an open classroom because students hunt them down like candy on Halloween.

8. When you met another student, you asked what they were studying. If they replied "nursing," you instantly responded, "Oh I'm sorry, good for you," because you knew how intense our program was.

9. There was always an instant sensation of fear/dread when you got an email from ECN because it either meant a new assignment or grades were posted.

10. We were always told to check our Walsh email, but if you don't look at it for three consecutive days, you already missed seven events and your inbox had 91,302 unread messages.

11. It was impossible to graduate without hearing about how Walsh University was a field of alfalfa before becoming an institution of higher education.

12. If you lived in any of the apartments, you knew that it was a constant battle to have a steady supply of toilet paper and trash bags.

13. There are some beautiful musical traditions in the Catholic church, but you will forever be a fan of the amazing modern religious music PJ and his crew produced.

14. In your eyes, we finally became a true university the day "Walsh University" became a Snapchat filter.

15. One of the best things about spring semester, other than all of the breaks, was finally seeing our beautiful campus come to life with more than 8,000 red and yellow tulips.

16. While there are other universities out there that have larger budgets, bigger events, upgraded technologies and better sports programs, we love Walsh University and are extremely proud of our Catholic University of Distinction.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
