Whenever I meet someone who matches my love for "Gilmore Girls," I ask the same controversial question: Do you think Rory should have ended up with Dean, Jess, or Logan? This simple answer can tell you so much about a person and can instantaneously bond you with them. But when you passionately love a Gilmore Guy and find out someone disagrees, it can get really ugly.
While Dean is wholesome, kind, and Rory's first love, he is not enough for Rory and, well, an adulterer. Logan is adventurous, spontaneous and witty but he and Rory never seem to have the right timing (not to mention he cheated on her). That leaves Jess. He is intelligent, mysterious and cares immeasurably for Rory. It's simple. He and Rory are meant to be together. Don't even try to tell me otherwise.
Yes, Jess isn't perfect. But no one is perfect, not even Rory. They both have their flaws but they balance each other out perfectly. Here's why Rory should have stuck with Jess in the end:
1. Just look at him. He's beautiful.
Two people this good looking were meant to be together.
2. He was always there when she needed him, even before they started dating.
Sorry, Dean. The sprinkler at the Oasis was Jess' moment. Guess that's what you get when you don't check your pager.
3. He intellectually challenges her.
Rory needs a guy who she can share her love of books. Who better than the Dodger of Stars Hallow? Jess reads just as much, if not more, than Rory does and can intellectually stimulate her.
4. Jess is hilariously sarcastic.
One of few people who rivals a Gilmore Girl's wit and sarcasm.
5. They were adorably awkward together.
6. While having incredible chemistry at the same time.
7. Just look at the way they look at each other.
8. He cares about her more than anything.
9. He is a bit of a bad boy.
10. And yes, he is a jerk sometimes.
Well, most of the time.
11. But he tries to be better for Rory.
See #15.
12. But that perfectly balances out Rory's innocent and sweet disposition.
13. Rory calls him out when he's acting out of line.
14. And he isn't afraid to call her out for her actions.
After dropping out of Yale and living at her grandparents' house, she needed someone to remind her that she lost sight of who she really is.
15. They make each other better people.
I mean, he wrote a freakin' book and she encouraged him to do so.
16. He always came back for her.
This may have been the most unexpected, romantic yet tragic moments in "Gilmore Girls" history. WHY DIDN'T SHE RUN AWAY WITH HIM?
