17 Things You Experienced This Year If You Were Born In 1995

Hey, nineties babies! We were the split, right down the middle. Some people say we aren’t true nineties babies because were too young. Whatever. At least we got to experience the wonders of the amazing 2000s, like the iPod and Miley Cyrus in her heyday. Here are some of the incredible things you experienced, just in the year 2016.

1. You celebrated your 21st birthday, and had your first legal drink.

Cheers!

2. You voted in your first election.

Wether you're satisfied with the results or not, you did your civic duty, and you wore that sticker with pride.

3. You witnessed a new beginning to a series you grew up with

When J.K. Rowling's Famed novels first hit the big screen, she introduced the world to a world hidden right under its nose. After a long lull of rereading and re-watching, "Fantastic Beasts" gave us a look into a whole other part of that world. Rowling showed us that the Magical world is bigger and more intricate than we could ever imagine.

4. And experienced the ending of it, too.

We will Always remember Alan Rickman as Severus Snape.

5. You grabbed your lightsaber and went into battle one more time

We were just kids when young Anakin Skywalker and Darth Maul first graced the big screen. Now, we still get all giddy when John William's famous theme starts playing and those famed golden words start scrolling up the screen.

6. You celebrated the lives of many other people who were famous in previous generations, but you still know their names today.

I don't know who we'll miss most: Gene Wilder, Nancy Reagan, David Bowie, Prince or Mohammad Ali.

7. You discovered that fame can come after death, too.

A gorilla became so famous after he died that people actually wrote him in as a candidate for the election.

8. You learned how important clean drinking water is

Many children in our country are still at risk of drinking contaminated water. The natives in the Dakotas are still trying to prevent it, but the people in Flint, Michigan are already living it.

9. You saw or heard about innocent people, like your friends and/or family, dying.

This year, we saw shootings at schools, night clubs, rallies and protests-- in other words, too much violence.

10. And if Swine flu and Ebola wasn’t enough, Zika crept into our country and threatened us all.

11. You voiced your opinion on the punishment of a swimmer from Stanford.

We all know his name. We all know what he did.

12. You also saw some amazing things, like a fantastic new musical

13. A chance for your transgender friends (or yourself) to protect and serve our country.

In June, the Pentagon lifted the ban that prevented transgender people from joining the US Military.

14. A record-breaking Olympics for the USA team

Michael Phelps is still the most-decorated Olympian in history.

15. And the 50th Superbowl.

16. Speaking of sports, some of your favorite female athletes fought for the rights they deserved.

Five of the athletes who play on the US Women's Soccer team sued for equal pay in relation to the Men's Soccer team.

17. Your OTP split.

Brangelina, Gaga and Kinney, or Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris (I wonder what song will be about him?). At least there are a bunch of single famous guys out there now, including Johnny Depp!

It's amazing how much we've experienced in our lives in just one year!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
