17 Bible Verses To Get You Through This Semester

With the start of a new semester, we’re all going to experience the highs, lows and somewhere in-betweens. No matter what you’re feeling, there is always a Bible verse you can go to for advice. Here are seventeen Bible verses (because… it’s 2017) that will make whatever you’re going through a little less difficult!

1. John 14:27

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

2. Proverbs 16:3

"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans."

3. Psalm 94:19

"When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy."

4. Matthew 28:20

"And behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

5. Psalm 73:26

"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."

6. Job 42:2

"I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted."

7. Proverbs 4:23

"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it."

8. Isaiah 43:2

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze."

9. Psalm 37:7

"Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes."

10. Matthew 5:16

"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

11. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

12. Psalm 55:22

"Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken."

13. James 1:2-3

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance."

14. Psalm 46:1

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."

15. Matthew 11:28

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

16. Isaiah 40:28

"Do you now know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom."

17. Hebrews 13:8

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."

These verses are just the beginning; you can accomplish anything through reading God’s word. Whether it be encouragement or times of trouble, you can come to God for all your problems!

Remember: God always has your back.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
