Friendship, men and cosmopolitans. Sex and the City may have ended about 13 years ago, but that doesn't mean we have to forget all the incredible life lessons they had to teach us. Well, the lessons may not always be so life changing. But when it comes to dating and friendship they hit the head on the nail every single time.
1. The number one pass time when you and your friends get together? Judging others.
See an ex? Judge them. See an ex's new squeeze? Judge them. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Tinder. The places we can judge people is endless. But it is much more fun to do it in a group.
2. Showing our true colors.
Sometimes being yourself can be hard. But once you show it, it is almost impossible to pretend you are someone else.
3. Catching feelings and then getting dumped.
Heartbreak can be a difficult thing, and who knows how long it will last? After Carrie got stood up at the alter she went into a complete downward spiral. But who wouldn't?
4. When food is just that good...
We can all attest to how a good sandwich or burger can get us going.
5. In the beginning, none of us were really that fashionable.
Ever look back at your old photos and cringe at how crazy you used to dress? Yeah, me too.
6. Some people are just meant to roam free.
Be wild. Be free. And under no circumstances let anyone cage you up or lock you away. You're beautiful and amazing and don't need anyone to "fix you."
7. When bottoms up was the best thing you heard all day.
Going out, getting tipsy, having fun. That is a perfect ending to a stressful day.
8. When someone hurts your best friend.
No one is gonna mess with your best friend as long as you can help it.
9. Sometimes you have to put yourself first.
Relationships can be difficult, but just like Samantha figured out, sometimes you need to take a break and be with yourself for a while.
10. We all want the perfect love.
Aren't we all Carrie?
11. Speaking of finding love, it is EXHAUSTING looking for it.
After six and a half years or so, I still have no clue as to how to find Mr. Right.
12. When you're single, love is everywhere you look.
Does Valentine's Day get more lovey-dovey every year? Every. Single. Year. But you only take notice when you're single.
13. Shopping addictions can be all too real.
For me, it is when I walk into Target to spend $6 on some nail polish, and come out spending $600 on random things I don't even need.
14. As women, we should not be ashamed to be successful without a man and a baby.
Enough said.
15. Style is possible at anytime, anywhere, at any age.
Carrie is calling a cab while looking runway ready. You go girl!
16. No matter what happens in life, your best friends will always be there.
There is a reason they are called best friends forever and not best friends for now.
