At the start of my freshman year in August, my original plan was to go back home to New Jersey for spring break. Well, my plan fell through, because I ended up booking a flight to Los Angeles to spend my spring break with my friend from college. Even though I missed being able to spend the week with my family, I could not have asked for a better spring break.
If you have the opportunity to visit a college friend during spring break, go for it. And if you do, here are 16 thoughts you might have!
1. I hope my parents will not disown me from the family since I am not going home for spring break.
"I'm still the favorite child, right?"
2. I hope my friend's parents will like me.
I really do not want them to hate me, or else that would not be good.
3. I don't know what to pack.
Shoes, bottoms, tops...What else?
4. I hope it will be acceptable for me to overpack.
I packed all of the necessities...Also known as my entire closet.
5. What activities will my friend and I do?
Will we shop? Will we eat?
6. Will I be able to sleep-in late?
I would prefer not having to set my alarm for at least one morning.
7. I hope my friend's friends are cool.
Maybe we can be friends too!
8. I hope my friend will not give me a one-way ticket either back home or to college because of my presence.
Please do not let me leave.
9. I hope I will not spend too much money during spring break so my extra money can be used to cover my Uber charges for the next time I go out.
10. I hope I will not look like a tourist.
Does it look like I live here?
11. I hope there are good restaurants in the town my friend lives in.
Good food is very important, am I right?
12. I wonder if I should move to my friend's town after I graduate college.
Maybe I will find a job here too!
13. I hope there will not be any long car rides.
Or else, there better be a lot of pit-stops for food.
14. Since I am not going home for spring break, does this mean my family will miss me an extra bit?
Just because I am not going home for spring break, does not mean I will not miss my family. Trust me, I will miss them. Spring break, please do not go by too quickly.
15. I have a bad feeling I will need to go exercise at the gym after all of the food I will eat during spring break.
My exercise includes getting out of bed in the morning. Isn't that good enough?
16. Spring break, please do not end.
The longer the break goes, the happier I will be. Besides, don't get me wrong, I love college, but I would much rather not do homework and go back to class.
Well, now back to the real world. Sadly, spring break cannot last forever.
