16 Things I Want To Thank My Boyfriend For

In honor of our two year anniversary coming up on new year’s, here’s a list of things my boyfriend does that I’m thankful for, and maybe you can relate to some of these too.

“We may not be perfect, but our moments together are.”

1. Being silly with me

Sometimes life gets serious, and in turn, I get more serious than I probably should be. But my boyfriend always makes sure to remind me to let loose and relax a little and have fun!

2. But also knowing when to be serious

There are times when it’s not appropriate to joke around and it’s time to be an adult and be serious about things, and he always knows exactly when those times are.

3. Surprising me with flowers and ice cream

Because, you know, what girl doesn’t love opening their door to see their boyfriend standing there with ice cream and flowers in hand?

4. Being amazing to my friends

When he said he’d stop by after work with a cup of coffee for me, I didn’t ask him to get one for my friend who was stopping by, but he did anyway and it was very appreciated.

5. Not judging my family

I’m sure everyone says this, but my family is crazy. So when he was presented with the opportunity to meet multiple members of my family at one time, he was eager to do so and got along great with them!

6. Not judging me

It’s a thing kinda expected from boyfriends, but how easy can that actually be when I open the door not yet dressed because I was taking selfies with my cat, spilled tea on my shirt, and coffee cups littering my whole room? That takes a special kind of person.

7. Doing absolutely anything to make me laugh

And I do mean anything. Ranging from tickling me, to making a fool out of himself in public or in front of his friends, or to making the stupidest jokes late at night when I’m crying over the whatever the latest big problem seems to be.

8. Loving my cat

When we first started dating, my boyfriend didn’t really like cats. Like at all. But over the two years, they’ve grown on him and he even wants to cuddle and kiss my kitty.

9. Playing Taylor Swift all the time

No, it doesn’t matter if we’ve heard her latest single five times in a row now, I want to hear it again. And no matter how long we’ve been listening to her, he’ll still turn her albums all the way up in the car or at home. Because anyone who knows me knows that Taylor is the key to my heart.

10. Helping me out of hard places

Literally and figuratively.

11. Treating me like a princess

The number of times I’ve heard other girls say they want a relationship like ours because my boyfriend treats me like a literal princess (even when I act like a brat) is too many to count.

12. Taking me on adventures

Wanna go to the beach? The mall? Watch marching band shows? Coffee shop date (my fav)? You got it, because why not?

13. Standing up for me

Whether it’s to my friends who are being a bit harsher than necessary in their actions and words, my sister, or other guys who try to hit on me and won’t back off, my boyfriend is by my side through all of it and never hesitates to say what he thinks

14. Being honest with me

Everyone wants to hear good things, but how many people are going to tell you what you really need to hear? What’s probably behind that person’s motives, if that lipstick is really a good color for you, or if your hair is messed up in the back. That’s what real friends are for.

15. Taking cheesy couple pictures

Because it’s no secret that most girls (me included) love those ridiculously corny couple pictures

16. Being there for me through anything and everything

Sometimes you need someone who is going to be there for you no matter what and not judge you in the least, someone you can rely on for anything, someone who would drop everything to help you, and that’s who my boyfriend is to me and I couldn’t be more grateful.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
