Sometimes choosing "random roommate" has a bad stigma in college, because often they don’t turn out the way you imagine they will. However, sometimes you get lucky and get paired with a roommate who makes you feel like you might be able to handle the whole college thing. If so, these are things you might be able to relate to.
1. When people see only one of you, it’s an immediate conversation starter.
“So, uh, did your roommate go home or something?”
2.You always have someone to go to the dining hall with.
At least you know that you don’t have to suffer through it alone.
3. Every conversation is at least 80 percent inside jokes.
Sometimes something as simple as “I don’t know” or “Bambi” can have you both rolling on the floor.
4. There’s no such thing as TMI.
You get really close, really quick when your only living space is a small shared room with two beds.
5. You always have someone to text in awkward situations.
“Hi, these people are trying to talk to me in line at Starbucks, but all I want is coffee SOS.”
6. You always have someone to motivate you to do your homework.
7. Or eat pizza and watch scary movies instead.
Because college, right?
8. There is always someone there to bring you back down to Earth when you get too excited about a boy.
“I think he’s in love with me.”
“He literally just let you borrow his pen.”
9.There is always someone to bring you back up when you’re feeling really upset about a boy.
There is no better cure for a broken heart than cheddar bites and long drives on back roads with your roomie.
10. There is always someone willing to make bad decisions with you.
If you find someone who is up for anything, never let them go.
11.You can’t stay mad at each other.
Half of the time, you can’t even find a reason to be mad at the other, so arguments aren't really an issue.
12. There is always someone to pull a prank on.
If your roomie happens to be gullible or easy to scare, take full advantage of that. They might be upset for a minute, but they will be able to laugh about it with you next time you tell the story.
13.You know that someone is always going to be on your side.
While living in the dorms, it is impossible to avoid arguments. Your roomie will stand by you when an inevitable argument arises and she will make it well known.
14.You have someone to exercise with.
I mean, when you actually decide to exercise.
15.There is always someone who will watch reality TV with you.
Even if they don’t like "Master Chef Junior," they’ll pretend like they know what is happening and that they are very interested.
16. You know that you’ve found someone who you will hold near to your heart for the rest of your life.
No matter how far away your homes away from college are, you know that won’t come between the bond you two share. Sometimes people are blessed with great roommates, and if you are one of those lucky people, make sure your roommate knows how important they are to you.
