Buffalo is a city on the rise. It has always been an amazing city, but now with the additions of the Harbor Center, Canalside, Riverworks, and so much more it is becoming even better. If you've never been to Buffalo, you need to give it a try. I promise you won't be disappointed. Buffalo truly is 'an all America city'. Here is 16 things that every true Buffalonian will understand.

1. There are great people around every corner.

They don't call us 'The City of Good Neighbors' for nothing. Everywhere you look there is some kind of charity or fundraiser in action. The people of Buffalo take care of each other (especially during snow storms).

2. Wide Right

Even if you're not a sports fan, everyone in Buffalo knows the pain that this phrase inflicts.

3. We live in WESTERN New York.

Despite what people from New York City may think, we live in Western New York NOT Upstate New York.

4. It's not called soda.

Everyone from Western NY knows it's called pop not soda.

5. Buffalo wings don't exist.

Don't ever call a Buffalo pizzeria and order buffalo wings. Buffalo is where chicken wings were invented! They are just wings to us. So, do you want them hot, medium, or mild? And don't forget your blue cheese!

6. We take our sports very seriously.

Whether it be the Sabres, Bills, Bandits, or even the Bisons, there is no doubt that Buffalo is a sports town with a drinking problem!

7. We love Canada!

When you look across Lake Erie, you can see Canada. With this in mind, most of us grew up taking day trips to our neighboring country-- especially if you played hockey.

8. Loganberry

If you've never tried Loganberry then you haven't lived! This hybrid of blackberry and raspberry is honestly the best drink on the planet.

9. We love our music!

You can find at least one concert on any given day during the summer. Buffalo sure loves its music!

10. Sahlen's

Sahlen's hot dogs are perfection and every Buffalonian knows it.

11. Chiavetta's

Chiavetta's chicken BBQ is a Buffalo favorite! But let me warn you that they always sell out in record time so be sure to get there early!

12. Sponge Candy

This strange little candy is unique to Buffalo. It comes in a few different varieties, but they all have the spongy center covered by some sort of chocolate coating. They are delicious!

13. Bison Chip Dip

The first thing I look for when I go to a party. It goes great with pretzels too!

14. Mighty Taco

Who needs Taco Bell when you have a Buffalo favorite right here?

15. Pizza Logs

Pizza logs are one of my favorite Buffalonian foods-- second only to chicken finger subs. If you've never had a pizza log, then you need to get your butt down to Buffalo and try one!

16. Roller Derby

If you live in or near Buffalo and you have yet to make it to Riverworks to Catch one of the Queen City Roller Girls' bouts, then you need to get a move on! Roller derby is a fast paced and hard hitting game that is awesome to watch and even more fun to play! Definitely check it out! (Oh, and Go Saucies!)

Clearly, Buffalo is an amazing city that prides itself on it's uniqueness. Although I listed a few things that are unique to Buffalo, there are a ton more that I didn't have time to list such as Paula's Donuts, Weber's Mustard, and Beef on Weck. If any other Buffalonians can think of anything I missed feel free to put it in the comments below!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
