Living with a roommate can be one of the hardest things in the world. It's a whole different thing to go from your parents house to college or a place of your own. But, with a few simple tips and some guidance, it can actually work. Trust me.

1. Be a decent person

2. Replace the toilet paper when you use the last of it

Really though. How do you expect me to wipe? Rude.

3. Wash your dishes

When you leave out dirty dishes, it makes your already tight living space smell a little funky. Don’t be an animal.

4. Talk about problems RIGHT when they come up

Leaving problems there and not talking about them can lead to a passive aggressive attitude and make things worse. If you talk about things right when they start to bother you, problems won't arise in the future.

5. Don't leave food out

Leaving food out makes your living space smell funky. I repeat, do not be an animal.

6. Shower and have basic hygiene

When something smells bad, it can make your space smell a little funky. Shower in a timely manner and try to be hygienic. Brush your teeth, clean yourself, and maybe put some perfume on if you’re feeling real crazy. It makes your whole day better when you are clean.

7. You don't always have to hang out with your roommate

You don't have to be best friends! It's totally normal to get tired of each other once in a while. Take time for yourself and make your own friends!

8. Follow rules that you have set up

Just like talking about problems right when they happen, setting up rules and guidelines right away makes it so there aren't problems in the future. It's not hard people, I promise.

9. Personal space is important even though you might live in a box

Don't be all up on your roommate all the time. Give them some space and take some space for yourself. Living with someone isn't easy and this is important!

10. Clean up after yourself

AM I MAKING THIS CLEAR ENOUGH? It’s not really THAT hard people.

11. Work around each other's schedules

Schedules will never line up. The only thing that will ever probably match is your menstrual cycle.

Try to work around each other and make decisions from there.

12. Make a calendar to schedule times to clean and do chores

Make sure this works around schedules too! It also makes life a lot easier and helps to avoid problems in the future.

13. DON’T STICK YOUR HAIR TO THE SHOWER WALLS AND DON’T LEAVE IT IN THE DRAIN

Ya nasty.

14. Don't leave passive aggressive notes or texts

Address the problem right when it comes up and there will be no reason to be passive aggressive!

15. If your roommate uses your stuff, don't be afraid to tell them to ask you next time

Also, if you want to use their stuff, ask! Most of the time, it’s not a problem. Most of the time, if you don’t ask, they will get mad and vice versa. JUST ASK.

16. Acknowledge we are all humans and make mistakes and forgive each other.

Life happens, man

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
