Let's be real: being sick is the absolute worst, no matter what you have. It could be as simple as a cough to something as severe as the plague -- either way, it sucks. You never truly realize how thankful you are for being able to clearly breathe through your nose and talk without getting an itchy sensation in your throat until you're sick.

1. Constantly coughing into your arms, shirt, hands, knees, hat, plate of food, on your friends, on strangers… basically everywhere

2. Trying to see how long you can hold your coughs in before exploding with boisterous noises

Then there’s that awkward moment when someone is talking to you, and you have to cough, so the sound of your yakking interrupts the conversation

3. And the same thing applies for sneezing

4. Examining the masterpiece of snot that just exploded from your nose

You're basically the next Van Gogh, but with your nose.

5. Always having to carry around a box of tissues with you everywhere you go

Oh, and hand sanitzer

6. And the bottoms of your sleeves are covered in crusty, dried snot for the times that you forgot to bring a tissue box

7. Being that one person during a test who aggravates everyone with constant coughing and sniffling

8. Constantly listening to your friends nagging you about staying away from them so you don't get your sick germs on them

9. Always debating whether or not you should blow your nose because you don’t want to annoy the people around you

10. Feeling mentally drained 24/7

11. Feeling like death after walking up the stairs

12. Your head feels like a hammer is pounding on it and you’re waiting for it to explode

13. Trying to remember a time when you could breathe through your nose and not get that itchy sensation in your throat

14. Losing your voice and sounding like a pubescent boy

15. Overdosing on cough drops

16. And finally, having to constantly listen to your friends complaining about how you got them sick even though you didn't

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
