16 Reasons You Know He's A Keeper

Now that you're in college, you know Prince Charming stopped riding in on a white horse a long time ago. You probably think that there is no such thing as fairy tales, the perfect man who will sweep you off your feet, someone to fall in love with and live happily ever after. But, wait. These guys, although few and far between, do exist.

Here are 16 ways you'll know you found your Prince Charming, even if he doesn't ride in on a white horse and save the day.

1. He's full of romance.

The time he took you into Davis Wade Stadium and taught you how to swing dance, you felt like you were in a movie, dancing with the guy of your dreams on the field of the No. 1 school in the nation—Hail State! Or what about the time he took you to watch the sunrise before breakfast at the cutest café downtown? The point is, he makes plans, he's spontaneous, and he's willing to do what it takes to make you happy. (Within reason, of course. Some girls are impossible to please. LOL. Can you say “high maintenance?")

2. He's a problem solver.

Whenever you're upset, he wants to take a walk. It usually ends up in the grass somewhere with your tear-stained face in his hands, but by the time you get back inside, all is well with the world again.

3. The two of you share the same beliefs and values.

Being able to share your faith and build a relationship upon that is exactly what God intended. It adds an unbelievable richness to the relationship when you can sit in a busy coffee shop or on a picnic blanket outside and read God's word together.

4. He buys you sock monkeys.

Or really anything he's heard you talk about always wanting.

5. You guys have “heart-to-hearts" on the reg.

He always keeps things light and fun, but he also recognizes when life brings its more serious moments. It's in those moments you realize he cares more about you than you thought he did.

6. He treats you like a princess on your birthday and every other day.

You two hadn't even started dating, and he was already planning a surprise dinner date for your birthday. He even contacted your roommate so he could come over the night before and put all your favorite things on your nightstand—of course after you were dead asleep. You woke up in the morning literally speechless. How did that creep even get in your room?! Who cares?! You were too busy drooling over his efforts. Most importantly, he treats you like a princess every day—not only on your birthday or Valentine's Day. I promise girls, they do exist (or the only one left is already taken).

7. He cares about your friends (even if they're weird).

He's always up for whatever you want to do on Friday night. Whether it's stay in and watch movies or go out with friends, he's ready and willing to join in and have fun. Believe me when I say, if he cares about you, he'll make an effort with your friends.

8. He takes you home to meet the fam.

And of course, they're perfect, too.

9. He writes you handwritten notes.

They're not sappy and disgusting; they're short (okay, sometimes long) and sweet, but even then they mean the world.

10. He picks you flowers.

Most girls would feel so appreciated if their boyfriend showed up with a bouquet of store-bought flowers, but let me tell you, ladies, there is nothing in this world like going for a walk with the guy you love and watching him pick flowers for you. It may seem silly, but I'm pretty sure that's why God made them in the first place.

11. He sees you at your worst, but loves even your bad side.

Within the first six months, he had already seen every single side of you—good, bad, ugly, uglier, ugliest. You're not good at hiding emotions, and to be completely honest, you figured he would've already given up on your “high maintenance(ness)." When you find someone who loves and nurtures the thousands of girly issues you have, keep him, because he obviously decided to keep you (even after they saw you turn into Satan that one time).

12. He always makes you laugh.

He is silly in public and always risks his own embarrassment hoping you'll throw your head back and laugh. When the two of you were taking a walk, and he commented on how much traffic there was, and then he grabbed you and dipped you, kissing you shamelessly in front of the cars that drove by. As embarrassed as you were, you secretly hoped it made those people laugh as much as it made you laugh.

13. He never lets you lift a finger.

He doesn't give you an option. If it's your purse, your groceries or your laundry, he always has it in his hands before you even think to pick it up. If that wasn't enough, he somehow opens every door, too. You've actually gotten so used to it that sometimes when you're walking by yourself on campus, you'll just stop in front of doors, forgetting he's not there to open them for you. And yes, you are aware that that might be the most diva(ish) thing ever.

14. He takes you out for coffee.

You knew he truly loved you when he participated in #WhiteGirlWednesday (every Wednesday) and even surprised you when he walked up to the counter and ordered a “Venti Iced Vanilla Caramel Mocha shaken with extra whipped cream."

15. He adds you into his future plans.

You immediately noticed it the first time “I" became “we." If he truly is your Prince Charming, then this will be something you love hearing, but if it makes you uncomfortable you better send Prince Charming back into the enchanted forest or wherever the heck he said he came from.

16. He doesn't judge you for what you eat.

Yes, I'm talking about the whole Whopper meal, you nasty thing.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
