Summer is officially here and you’re probably asking yourself what you should do next. The answer should always be the same: eat! Yeah, OK you should probably take a few breaks between rounds, but let’s be honest — summertime offers the best food options. Whether you’re in the mood for barbecue with some friends and family, or you would rather have a cool snack next to the pool, there are plenty of food options that just scream summer. Here are 16 that always make it onto my list.

1. Watermelon

A summer staple; can — and should? — we really go a season without it?

2. Hot dogs & Hamburgers

The ever-classic barbecue option for when you invite your friends over. I’ll have one of each, please.

3. Cherries

Mom frequently puts these out for dessert when we have company over and even though I don’t eat them often, cherries serve as a colorful centerpiece.

4. Strawberries

Now that is a fruit that I cannot live without. The perfect treat for a hot summer day.

5. Macaroni salad

I live and breathe macaroni salad over the summer. You just can’t go wrong with it.

6. Corn (on or off the Cob)

I prefer it served off the Cob, but I know that I’m an anomaly. It pairs perfectly with barbecue, especially a burger or some ribs.

7. Lemonade

Despite not exactly being food, you can’t go through summer without some lemonade for just about every meal.

8. Funnel Cake

When I used to go down the shore every summer with family, funnel cake and lemonade were must-haves on the boardwalk. If you ever find yourself in Wildwood Crest, NJ, you have my recommendation on what to order first.

9. Ice Cream

I shouldn’t even have to explain this one.

10. Mangoes

Mangoes are a great snack option for the summer and are a healthy alternative to chips.

11. Italian Ice

When its summertime, our freezer is always stocked with Italian Ice. Also something that you should get if you ever visit the Wildwood Crest boardwalk.

12. Oranges

They’re really perfect for every season, but they are a great mid-afternoon snack.

13. Iced Tea

Like lemonade, you can’t go wrong with the refreshing drink. Make sure that you have enough for when you have friends over!

14. Fruit salad

Mix your favorite fruits together and enjoy!

15. Ice Pops

At five-years-old, you didn’t have to ask me twice if I wanted an ice pop. The same rule applies at 21, only for some reason, less people ask.

16. S’mores

Hopefully one of your friends has a campfire and you can enjoy an authentic s’more while catching each other up on your most recent semester away from each other!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
