In high school, the thought of the end of summer is accompanied by agony, rage, and a little bit of sorrow, as you slowly sift into the realization that once again, you'll be awoken by your alarm clock blaring in your ear, awakening you from your blissful summer and immersing you into halls dense with lockers and "forgotten" homework. But once you hit college, classes begin at 10 AM (at least, if you're doing it right), you're surrounded by your friends 24/7, you're studying things that truly interest you in a wide array of fields, and you embrace your independence and freedom in ways that allow you to truly discover not only what you'd like to do with the rest of your life but also who you are and who you'd like to be.
Ultimately, it is for this reason that, when summer hits, you certainly enjoy the looser structure, the nice weather, and taking it easy for a while; but no doubt, you're rip-roaring and ready to go, back to the place that you call home--college, wherever it may be. So, here are 15 thoughts that every college student has over the summer that resonate, at least on some level, with the lull that you might currently be experiencing:
1) "I miss my friends."
2) "I miss my friends a lot."
3) "...but I don't miss Dining Center food."
4) "Maybe I'll go take a walk. It's such a nice day."
5) "And I mean, Pokemon Go makes it so much more enticing..."
6) "But, then again, Netflix is right here, with so many more rewards."
7) "I mean, who needs to hatch eggs when I can watch Orange is the New Black on repeat instead?"
8) "Good call. Well done. Exercise is out of the question."
9) "Man, I miss my friends."
10) "Maybe I should Snapchat them."
11) "Maybe I should Skype them."
12) "Maybe I should, like, fly to their houses and arrive unexpectedly. They wouldn't mind, right?"
13) "I should definitely get ahead on some of the reading for the semester."
14) "HAHAHAHAA back to Netflix, who am I kidding?"
15) "I can't wait to be back at school and with my friends again!!!!!"
