Living in such close proximity to someone for an entire year, often times, forces roommates to get pretty close. It takes a lot to put up with someone for that long, especially when it feels like you're living in a small jail cell. However, sometimes you get just lucky enough to end up with a pretty cool roommate that you actually get along with, and if so, these phrases might sound familiar.

1. "It's your turn to take the trash down"

No one wants to haul the trash bags down three flights of stairs to get them to the trash room and since I did it last time, it's your turn

2. "Since you're already down there..."

...can you hand me my computer/will you plug in my phone/will you shut the light off. With lofted beds, I'm not going to climb up and down my ladder everytime I need something from below my bed. That's what a roommate is for.

3. "Turn your alarm off"

When your roomie has an 8am and you don't have class until 11am, the last thing you want to hear is their alarm going off 5 or 6 times. Turn it off please.

4. "Turn around I'm changing"

You guys are pretty close, but the most privacy you can get in those little rooms is your roommate's decency to turn around while you get changed.

5. "Can I borrow..."

Whats the fun in sharing a room if you don't get to share each others clothes??

6. "Do you have my shirt?"

This may be hard to believe, but things can get lost in a dorm room, and when something is missing, everyone's first thought is to assume their roommate has it.

7. "Lock the door when you come back tonight"

I will not be getting out of my bed when you come back at 2am, and even though you already know to lock the door when you come back.. I'm still going to remind you.

8. "Can I just throw this in with your laundry?"

Since I only have so many washes on my card, you can probably just throw my shirt I need clean for tomorrow in your load of laundry right?

9. "When was the last time we cleaned?"

All the days blend together and this room has gotten pretty messy..

10. "Well my side is clean"

I take pride in my side being tidy if/when it is.. so can you get your life together and tidy up your side too.

11. "We should probably get out of bed now"

On a Sunday at 4pm, when you and your roommate are still laying in your beds with no homework done, someones gotta say it.

12. "Keep the door unlocked I forgot my key"

Yep my key is laying on my desk and if you don't keep the room unlocked when you leave I'm not going to be able to get back in.

13. "I'm getting sick, so you should be getting sick soon too"

You share clothes, food, appliances, and a living space, so you are probably sharing germs too. If your roommate is sick, its just a matter of time until you catch whatever they have.

14. "Can you keep the light off"

I know you're trying to get ready, but I'm trying to sleep.. so just keep the light off.

15. "I'm so happy we ended up rooming together"

Theres many other people on this campus I could have ended up with and I am so grateful I ended up with you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
