15 Things To Thank Your Dad For

It's very rare for dads to get acknowledged for all that they do for their kids and that needs to change. I know personally that there are many things in my life I would not have been able to accomplish without my dad's help and I'm sure most people feel the same way. My dad is my rock and he deserves to be appreciated along with all the other dads out here. Here is a list of things you should probably go thank your dad for right about now.

1. Thank you for teaching me how important it is to follow your dreams.

Without you always supporting me and showing me how to follow my dreams, I may have never realized what I really wanted to do in life. You have truly inspired me to follow my dreams after watching you follow yours for all these years.

2. Thank you for driving me everywhere I needed to be growing up.

Without you, I would not have made it to half of my horseback riding lessons and I would have never seen my camp friends. I owe you my life for the amount of time you spent driving me around growing up.

3. Thank you for taking the training wheels off of my bike.

You taught me to always push forward and try your hardest. Sure, you can get around on a bike with training wheels, but nothing is as special as riding a bike for real.

4. Thank you for documenting everything with photos.

You always said that one day I would thank you for all of the photos you made me take as a child and now I really am thanking you for that!

5. Thank you for teaching me how to drive.

Seeing as how mom was too scared to get in a car with me for the first few months, I never would have learned to drive if it wasn't for you.

6. Thank you for teaching me how to stand up for myself.

I know I will always have you to back me up and support me, but for the times when you aren't around, it's good for me to know how to tell people what I think.

7. Thank you for being my #1 fan while also being my biggest critic.

You are proud of me and everything I do, but you also call me out when I am doing something incorrectly. You are always there to help me be the best version of myself that I can be.

8. Thank you for staying strong in front of me even when you wanted to break down.

We have had a rough couple of years, but you always held it together in front of me to keep me from getting scared and I am so thankful for that.

9. Thank you for showing me that it's okay to cry.

Everyone has feelings and they are nothing to be embarrassed about. If you are sad, it's okay to cry it out and you taught me that.

10. Thank you for showing me how to cheer at the top of my lungs at baseball games.

Before you told me I was allowed to be loud at sports games, I really wasn't experiencing all of the sport for what it truly is.

11. Thank you for always being up for an adventure with me.

Whether it's going for a ride with no destination or trying out a new restaurant, you are always up for anything.

12. Thank you for getting up at 5 am on one of two of your only days to sleep in to take me to horse shows.

That is true fatherly love right there.

13. Thank you for accepting my flaws and showing me how to fight through them.

We all have flaws and you know mine quite well. Instead of using them against me, you help me work through them and try to make my flaws less evident.

14. Thank you for giving me an amazing childhood.

From taking me to the zoo to teaching me how to ride a bike to cooking dinner nearly every night, you really gave me the best childhood I could have ever asked for.

15. Thank you for teaching me how to love with my entire heart.

You have such a huge heart and you definitely passed that down to me.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
