New York City is known to be one of the most magical places to be during the holidays. Below is a list of the top things to do if you happen to stumble across the Big Apple during this holiday season.
1. The number one and most basic passage into the NYC holiday experience is seeing the tree at Rockefeller Center!
2. Stop at Saks Fifth Avenue and admire the elaborately decorated windows. Each window designed to show a different Christmas story.
3. Ice skate at Rockefeller Center! And for the less graceful, watching can be just as fun
4. Head over to Serendipity III and try their famous frozen hot chocolate.

6. Go see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular! Santa, the Rockettes, and Christmas carols -- what more can you ask for?
7. Window shop down Fifth Avenue and admire all the beautiful displays, especially stop to see the light show outside of Macy's.
8. Go to the Lincoln Center and see George Balanchine's classic ballet, "The Nutcracker."

Look up at the ceiling and admire the astrological signs painted there. Get there between 5 and 11 p.m., and the ceiling will illuminate with a 30- minute holiday light show including snowmen, views of the city, and overall holiday cheer -- and it's free!

12. Walk through Bryant Park's holiday market with a hot chocolate in hand and try out all the delicious treats and nicknacks on display.
13. For those who are over 21, Pete's Tavern in downtown Manhattan is a wonderful way to hide from the cold and enjoy a nice beverage.
Famously known as the place where O'Henry wrote his short stories, Pete's is wonderfully decorated for the holiday season and is the perfect way to spend a night out.
14. For those on a budget, just look up towards the Empire State Building and see it glowing in green and red, this will automatically make you feel more in the holiday spirit without spending a cent!
