15 Reasons Why Your Mom Is The Best
Erin Robinson

Moms are the best, there's no doubt about it. Here's a list of reasons why the lady who brought you into this world is just the greatest woman around.

1. She brought you into this world.

She went through nine months of aches, pains and morning sickness, then suffered several hours of labor to introduce you to the world. Then she did it all over again in order to give you siblings.

2. She puts up with your complaining.

When you're in a bad mood and need to vent, mom is always there to listen.

3. She tells you how it is.

Your mom is the first person to tell you when you're being a drama queen or when you're overreacting. She's real.

4. She pampers you.

When she comes into town for family weekend, the first thing you guys do is hit the mall, where she offers to pay for those boots you've been eyeing or the full-priced jeans you haven't been able to get yourself to buy. And sometimes, she treats you to a day at the spa.

5. She drinks just as much wine, if not more, than you do.

There's nothing better than when your mom says, "Would you like a glass of wine?" Let's be real, she's the best drinking partner you have.

6. She's your number one fan.

She's been there for every soccer game, every talent show and has always been front row. She's the most supportive lady around and always makes sure you feel loved.

7. She gives the best advice.

No matter what it is, your mom is always there on the other line to give you her two cents. She's talked you through the interview you have coming up, how to deal with awful roommates, and most importantly, the new guy you've had your eye on.

8. She knows how to embarrass you.

She can be totally embarrassing, but that's only taught you to laugh and be goofy alongside her.

9. She taught you how to cook.

Even if it's just a grilled cheese, she taught you how to be able to feed yourself so you won't starve now that you don't live at home.

10. She knows the answer to everything.

You know that you always call your mom when you're at the grocery store.

You: "Mom, where can I find the sugar?"

Mom: "Aisle 7, next to the flour."

11. She lets you blame things on her that you want to get out of.

Remember when you were in elementary school and didn't want to go on a play date? "Sorry, my mom won't let me." Let's be real, you still do it. Don't want to talk to that annoying girl from English class as you're walking across the quad? "Sorry, I'm on the phone with my mom." Don't want to go to a friend's lame dinner party? "Sorry, I have plans with my mom." We all do it.

12. She always comes to your defense.

No matter the situation, she will always be your biggest advocate. She takes your side for everything.

13. When you're in tears, she's always there on the other line to make you feel better.

Enough said.

14. She loves messing with you.

A good mom has a great sense of humor. She plays pranks on you and can take the heat when you seek revenge.

15. She takes care of you when you're sick.

When you're feeling under the weather, she comes over and make you soup, does your laundry and then pulls you out of bed when it starts to get ridiculous.

But most importantly, she's always there. Through the ups and downs, she's been there since day one and will continue to be there for every milestone. Mother knows best, but she also deserves the best.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
