15 Muhammad Ali Quotes To Live By

As we all know, the legendary Muhammed Ali has passed away this past week. In honor of that, I thought it would be a good idea to showcase some of the quotes he lived by. He was driven, courageous, and of course the original G.O.A.T. Here are the thoughts behind the champion.

1. “Don’t count the days; make the days count.”

Make the most of life, don’t let it go wasted.

2. "A man who views the world the same at 50 as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.”

Learn something from everyone. Experience the world and all its entirety, the good parts and bad.

3. “He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.”

Take chances, this life is too short to live it safely.

4. “I hated every minute of training, but I said, ‘Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.’”

With anything in life, hard work will pay off. Just keep moving forward.

5. "A man who has no imagination has no wings."

Live outside of your comfort zone, try new things. An exciting life won’t just come to you.

6. “Live every day as if it were your last, because someday you're going to be right.”

Never let fear get in the way of you doing something. You can always find something to be worried about. Live before you don’t have the chance anymore.

7. “If they can make penicillin out of moldy bread, they can sure make something out of you.”

Everyone is good for something.

8. “I don't have to be what you want me to be.

Don’t change who you are to fit someone else’s wants.

9. “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.”

Do something good with your time. Help people.

10. “Only a man who knows what it is like to be defeated can reach down to the bottom of his soul and come up with the extra ounce of power it takes to win when the match is even.

Even if you’re at your lowest, don’t be discouraged. Use that as the fire behind your fight to the top.

11. “I've made my share of mistakes along the way, but if I have changed even one life for the better, I haven't lived in vain.”

Make a difference in the world, even if it’s something small. The smallest thing can make someone’s day.

12. “Hating people because of their color is wrong. And it doesn't matter which color does the hating. It's just plain wrong.”

No double standards here.

13. “It's lack of faith that makes people afraid of meeting challenges, and I believed in myself.”

Believing in yourself is half the battle.

14. “Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

Nothing is impossible to the great.

15. “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.”

Enough said.

Ali was full of knowledge, fire, and courage. He fought every fight like it was his last, and he made something of himself. He achieved his goal of being the greatest not just in the ring, but in the gym, at home, and on the streets. May you rest in peace, Ali.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
