14 Reasons To Love Christopher Newport University
Glave And Holmes

Since coming to Christopher Newport University, I have met so many different types of people that I never would have thought I would. This campus attracts people who want a sense of community and trust. Whatever it is you want to explore in your college days, Christopher Newport staff is here to help guide you and work towards your goals with you. The support system is so strong and everyone here wants us to succeed. I can truly say I have found a home away from home and made some lifelong friends here. Below are quotes from students in sports, bands, sororities, clubs, etc. on why they love our school.

“One of the things I love about CNU is the ever growing campus because it shows the schools desire to gain prestige and send their graduating students into the world with a degree that sets them up for a good path to happiness and success”. –Cazzie Olko
“I love the opportunity that CNU gives each and every student. No matter your background or field of study, you can get involved in lots of different organizations and set yourself up for success. We Love The Social Aspect Of Our School
“I absolutely love walking to class and being able to see and say hi to people I know- I don’t think that’s something you get at a big school”. – Carly Melkus
“The size of the population is perfect at CNU. It’s small enough where you see a few friends on campus anywhere you go, but big enough where you also see new faces everyday. Classes are kept to a size that aren’t overwhelming and where you feel like just a number. Depending on the professor, some may even try to know every student by name even in the larger classes”. –Jordan Latorre
“I love Wednesday’s for Buffalo chicken wraps” -Leah Widdifield
"When I decided not to further my soccer career and to come to CNU instead I was terrified I would regret it, but CNU has helped me make some of the best friendships I’ve ever had. I am in a sorority, play on the ultimate Frisbee team and just went on an alternative spring break trip to West Virginia. There are endless possibilities and amazing support systems to help you chose what you want to do to make your college experience the best it can be”. –Susan Duffy
We Love Our Campus
“I love that we get free wifi and I love all the people I’ve gotten close to here”. –Jackson Clarke

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
