Everyone loves to visit New York City and do the touristy things, they stay for a couple days and think they got the full New York experience. But, you never truly get that experience until you have lived in the Big Apple. Living in New York can give you opportunities you never thought you could have and give you experience to take with you throughout your entire life.
1. The Shopping
Saks, the largest Macy’s in the world, Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale's, Soho. You name it, New York City has got it.
2. Central Park
Want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city? Head to central park to soak in everything nature has to offer in a huge park that takes up 10 percent of Manhattan.
3. The Food.
New York has the best food around. They do everything right from Italian, Chinese, American, Mexican, Japanese, Thai, Indian, Ethiopian, to Greek. Again, you name it, New York City has got it and they do it better than anyone else.
You can aslo find Food Trucks on almost every street and of course the famous hot dog stands on the corners.4. The Opportunities.
New York is known for its countless opportunities available to all who come. You can get an internship at a publishing office, at a fashion magazine, you could work for a celebrity, cater with a 5 star restaurant, the opportunities are endless.
5. Flea Markets and Thrift Stores
You will be able to get the most unique and antique finds at a decent cost. Things you will not be able to find anywhere else.
6. Television Shows
Go see an episode of Saturday Night Live or take a trip to see the Today Show in the a.m. and the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in the p.m.
7. Celebrities
Walk through the Upper East Side or West Village and you might run into some celebrities on the street. They are everywhere, you just have to know where to look.
8. Fashion Week
Run into celebrities, see the world’s most exquisite fashion, and be a part of the world famous New York City Fashion Week.
9. Concerts and Festival
New York is known for having the most amazing concerts around. They are home to Madison Square Garden (every singer dies to have their concert sold out here) and several fields where they host festivals like Governors Ball, Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Zoo, Jazz & Wine Festivals, just about everything you could think of.
10. Broadway
Theatre, theatre, theatre! The most spectacular shows are put on right out of New York City. It’s not cheap, but you will be amazed that the productions made from these amazing producers and actors.
11. Culture
Little Italy, Chinatown, Queens, Bronx, Upper East/West Side, Brooklyn, you get a little taste of every culture around in just a couple thousand square miles.
12. College
New York is home to some of the best colleges around. New York University, Parsons School of Design, Fashion Institute of Technology, Julliard, Columbia University. You will be sure to receive the best education around in these schools.
13. Transportation
You can ride your bike almost anywhere, take a taxi or Uber, ride the subway, take the bus, or drive yourself (usually not the best option) the options are endless for transportation and you can pick based on which one will be fastest or cheapest for you.

Overall, New York City will shape you into the person you want to be. The things you will get to do and see will change your life forever.
