We all have a friend (or a couple friends) that we would do anything for; otherwise they wouldn't have the best friend title in our heart. Do we actually tell our best friend how much we love them? Daily? If you forget to tell your best friend why you love them, there are probably many reasons why you should. They will appreciate it.
1. They answer the phone when you randomly call them to pretend like you are talking to someone.
The guy that you forgot to text back at the party is walking close to you and you truly don't want to start a conversation. It isn't like he isn't a great person or that you are rude; you are just truly awkward in these conversations. Your best friends always answer their phones (or tolerate the long voicemail you leave them).
2. They left a party with you because you were uncomfortable.
You get super exhausted after ten minutes of being in close proximity to other people and you really want to go home. Your best friends completely understand and walk home with you right away instead of asking you to stay.
3. They take embarrassing Snapchats of you to show the world their friend.
You complain every time your best friend takes a bad picture of you on Snapchat, but secretly really appreciate they think you are silly enough to be on their Snap story.
4. They make you leave the apartment to get unhealthy food with them.
Your best friends are the first people that call you during a bad day and make you get up to go get unhealthy (and cheap) food. You complain about getting out of bed. You also know that they are just being amazing and compassionate. What would you do without them?
5. They call you out on your mood swings, but give you great advice.
You rate their advice and know it is strictly an A+. They know exactly when you are over reacting and you can't help but love them for it.
6. They compliment something you dislike about yourself.
That terrible haircut you just got or the no makeup look are your least favorite things about your appearance one day, but that is when they compliment both. They may just be saying the compliment to make you less concerned, but it works!
7. They make sure your hair looks good before they take the picture.
They point out if your hair isn't lying flat or you have a random piece stuck to your lipstick. Who else would have your back?
8. They bring you coffee without you asking for it . . .
and they know exactly how you take it.
9. They go to the dining hall with you just to get ice cream.
You are slowly losing your sanity towards the end of the semester (or week two of classes). They are the first to understand that you aren't in a good mood and need to put something in your stomach. Ice cream cures all problems. Right?
10. They make you work out even when you just want to lay in bed.
You absolutely hate the fact they make you get up. You also love them for reminding you that your body is important and needs to be taken care of. They make sure you do some form of exercise, even if it is going to Zumba to laugh at you.
11. They make sure they are there for you when you want to cry.
They show up in seconds after you text them saying you are upset. They sit you down and highly encourage (make) you vent. They know exactly what to say. They are your shoulder to cry on.
12. They laugh at your jokes . . .
even if they are bad ones.
13. They are having a bad day.
They aren't perfect even if you think they are. They may not always tell you, but you know if they are having a bad day. You make sure they know how much they are cared about.
14. Just because.
Remember to tell them you love them. You don't need a reason. They are your best friends for a reason.
