Jealousy is something that really haunts you, especially in a social context. It provokes a negative mindset or any behavior that is downing, self-degrading, or hurtful. Jealousy hurts in so many ways. First, you hurt yourself. Secondly, you hurt those closest to you, especially your family and even your closest friends. Lastly, you hurt your social network, since jealousy turns people away, it negatively impacts friendships that you have, and it causes heated emotions. It leads to dangerous behaviors, and worse, dangerous consequences.

1. "I wish my body was like that."

Nobody can have your body, so stop thinking that you need to have another person's body type.

2. "I feel worthless."

Your worth isn't defined by your body, nor is it defined by boys/girls.

3. "Why are you so cute?"

It's great to be noticing of other's appearance, but saying it this way is a micro-aggression towards yourself where you're calling yourself ugly. Don't do that.

4. "Why don't I get as much attention as she does?"

Refer to 2.

5. "How are you able to do that?"

You aren't less talented than him or her; that's just an ability that he or she has but you make it up with an ability that he or she DOESN'T have.

6. "I wish my (boyfriend/girlfriend) would do that for me."

If he/she is not giving and/or taking equally like you are, it's time to say good-bye.

7. "You and your (boyfriend/girlfriend) are #Goals."

Yes they might have a lovely relationship and things are all lovey with them, but that doesn't mean you're less worthy of having such a relationship. You wish you had what they had, but you don't know everything behind the scenes. Your singleness is something to be appreciated!

8. "I hate you."

Don't hate, appreciate.

9. "I wish I had someone to cuddle with."

All you need is YOU.

10. "I'm going to cry as I watch a rom-com in my bed for the 95th time."

I appreciate you being open about feeling lonely or crying about things that don't go your way, but you are doing something that a lot of boys/girls don't know how to do: making plans for yourself.

11. "Nobody ever wants to do anything with me."

You don't need them since they're not your real friends.

12. "I have no friends."

You don't need anybody else to validate you because you are your best friend. That can be difficult at times, but you don't need to keep people in your life when they don't appreciate you the same way.

13. "(Boys/Girls) suck."

If you're a girl and you tell all your girl friends that "Boys suck," you think it's OK because you're just talking about gossip. Boys, this applies to you too when talking about girls. DON'T DO IT. It's not OK to talk about it this way because it gives the implication that ALL boys or ALL girls suck, which simply isn't the truth. You are a great person the way you are, regardless of how many people like you.

My point is, stop saying these things because you feel bad about yourself and you see others doing better. Don't let them be the source of your disappointment or negative feeling. Instead, be the source of your own positive feelings. Wise words of Eleanor Roosevelt: "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
