"You and I are more than friends. We're like a really small gang."

13 Things I love About My Best Friend
Elizabeth McCloskey

To my best friend of over 10 years: Thanks for not giving up on this friendship, even after we graduated from high school. We have been through it all since we first met in elementary school. We managed to stay friends even though I switched elementary schools, middle schools, and now we are at different colleges. So here's a thank you for everything for the last 10 plus years!

1. You get equally excited about new donut shops.

Yeah, so we may have a sugar problem, but it's OK. Thanks for always being down to indulge in delicious donuts!

2. We look stupid doing Zumba.

I'm so glad you're my workout partner and you enjoy dancing (terribly) alongside me. We definitely can't dance, but Zumba isn't the same without you laughing next to me.

3. You're literally down for Sprinkles cupcakes any time and day of the week.

Thank you for going with me when I crave my red velvet cupcakes. We really do have a sugar problem—donuts and cupcakes? Yikes.

4. You let me be stupid.

You always say yes to my stupid ideas, and I'm really glad you do. You're always up to go on adventures.

5. You have supported me in every sport I've done.

You've sat through dance recitals, soccer games, and golf tournaments. You are my biggest fan, and I can't thank you enough for that. Through every rough patch in golf, you've reminded me why I started and push me to keep going.

6. You come to me with open arms after every breakup.

Seriously, though. You've made me baskets, Valentine's Day presents, and just about everything else to help me get over my breakups. You always know how to brighten my mood, even when I am ugly crying.

7. We go to a lot of concerts and sing really loud in the car.

There is no one else I would want to gush over Tim McGraw or One Direction with.

8. You're there after every surgery.

Ever since you've known me, you always come over the day after surgeries. Even for my wisdom teeth surgery, you brought Paciugo and watched movies with me.

9. You constantly point me to the cross.

This is a big one! Not sure where I would be in my faith without you. You are always encouraging me to be the best I can. When I am struggling, you text me Bible verses and tell me God has control and to stop stressing. After all, a sweet friendship refreshes the soul. Proverbs 27:9.

10. We have a baking obsession.

Pretty sure every time we are together we bake or go find something sweet to eat.

11. I can text you at any time of the day, and you're there.

I have literally texted you late at night to get dessert and you're like, "Yeah, sure." I know I can always turn to you if I need anything.

12. We have a special bond.

You're basically my longest relationship. Thanks for being my best friend for all this time.

13. You have let me do life with you for over 10 years!

Seriously, we have been through just about everything together. Thank you for staying my friend this long. Even though we are many miles apart, we manage to have an inseparable bond. Thank you for being just as weird as me. You're the best, and I love ya lots!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
