13 Songs To Put In Your 2000s Throwback Playlist

Between the years of 2000-2010, we were gifted with some of the best, most memorable music of all time. There's a song for nearly every occasion and emotion. When making your perfect throwback playlist, make sure to include these gems in the mix.

1. Yeah! by Usher (2004)

This song has to top my list because it is my all time favorite guilty pleasure song. Featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris, it never fails to make me dance in my car, endangering literally everyone else on the road.

2. Ignition (Remix) by R. Kelly (2002)

So baby give me that toot toot. Let me give you that beep beep. Iconic.

3. Oops!...I Did it Again by Britney Spears (2000)

The first pop queen of the early 2000s

4. Promiscuous by Nelly Furtado ft. Timbaland (2006)

If you rap both part perfectly and no one is around to hear it...you should still feel proud of yourself.

5. Mr. Brightside by The Killers (2004)

If you're anything like me, you know every single word to this song, but have no recollection of trying to learn the lyrics.

6. Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It) by Beyoncé (2008)

As a small child with no interest in dating at the time, this was my JAM

7. Hips Don't Lie (2005)

You probably still reference this song in your day to day life.

8. Hot in Herre (2002)

Every time it gets too hot in the summer, be honest, you sing this.

9. Poker Face (2008)

I'm still not sure what all the lyrics mean, but that won't stop me from singing along anyways

10. Tik Tok (2010)

I was still in middle school when this first released, but I still jammed just as hard to it then as I do now.

11. Gold Digger (2005)

Kanye in his prime

12. Bring Me to Life (2003)

The song that brings the inner emo kid in you back to life

13. Bye Bye Bye (2000)

Because you have to end the playlist in the beginning of the century. This song is still iconic to this day.

Now go out and make yourself that perfect throwback playlist!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
