The everyday struggles in a typical day of being an introvert.

1. When you get invited to a party and have to act excited about going.

Because parties with loud music you don't listen to with a lot of people you don't know is your own personal version of Hell.

2. You stick to your interests so you're always a little confused as to what is "popular" right now.

You're constantly asking who certain artists are and what actors/actresses names are because you like what you like and usually not what is popular to other people.

3. When you've been around people too long and need alone time.

Honestly you need a day to get your life together after being around people. This is why it is always important to make sure you schedule in time for yourself during your week.

4. You get told, "You bottle up your emotions! Talk to me!" roughly 80 times a day.

Sometimes you don't want to talk about what is bothering you and that is okay. Journaling is a more realistic outlet than you telling someone your deep thoughts at Cracker Barrel.

5. You spend hours thinking about what someone said and it was probably something that was not that big of a deal.

You analyze in ways you did not even know were possible. This is why calling is so much easier than texting; texts can be too easily analyzed by you.

6. "You need to get out more! We're taking you out this weekend you would be so fun!"

If there ever comes a time when you find yourself having the urge to go to a party with dozens of people you don't know for hours...at least you'll know who to call.

7. And if you do go out it's only for maybe an hour.

You've probably been called rude or anti-social but would they rather you stay present being visibly uncomfortable and miserable?

8. Nature is the most calming aspect of your life.

Honestly, nature's beauty is breathtaking and if you ever are feeling overwhelmed hiking is a good way to relieve stress and enjoy the world around you.

9. People think you're shy when you prefer to be alone.

And maybe you are shy and that is okay! But some people aren't shy, they just keep to themselves and there is a difference.

10. You spend hours picking out little things, like birthday cards, finding the one that is the most meaningful and nobody truly appreciates it.

It's okay if no one notices your thoughtfulness, but it will always be annoying spending HOURS picking out the perfect thing and receiving a gift card to Applebees in return.

11. You hardly speak up but when you do people don't listen or act like they're shocked that you're speaking.

You have tons to say, what do they think you're doing while you aren't speaking up? Say what you're feeling and if nobody listens that's okay too.

12. You wonder how extroverts do it all.

Honestly, I have so much respect for them because their personalities drain me just thinking about it.

13. When you find an introvert and you both can hang out and not talk and just enjoy being together.

Introverts need love too! Not in the same way extroverts do but we still need it. Creating lasting relationships can be challenging but in the end it is all worth it.

Being an introvert is okay! You're no Erin or Michael, you're more Phyllis and Stanley. You're better with knitting and playing Sudoku than doing raps and dancing for the entire office. Keep doing your thing and enjoy life!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
