If you are anything like me, reading is your escape. In books, you can shake off the outside world and dive straight into another one where there are wizards, drool-worthy hunks and completely unrealistic romances. I don't think you need help deciding whether you love reading or not but I’m sure that at least one of these things applies to you if you love to just spend a few hours in a fictional universe.
1. You carry a book around everywhere you go.
Whether you’re going to a doctor’s appointment or your little brother’s band recital, you always have a book tucked in your purse or under your arm, just in case you have a few moments to spare.
2. You’ve asked for a new bookshelf for your birthday.
One bookshelf just isn’t cutting it. You have way too many to shove them onto just three shelves.
3. If it’s by your favorite author, you buy it.
When your favorite author publishes a new book or you spot one you’ve never seen before, you don't even bother reading the back. You just pick it up and add it to the already enormous stack in your arms.
4. If I lend you one of my books, you’re special to me.
My books are sacred to me and if I lend you one, consider yourself one of my best friends.
5. Dog-earring is a huge no-no.
If I see you folding the edge of a page to mark your place, I will resist the urge to rip it out of your hands and whisper to it soothingly.
6. Barnes and Noble is your home away from home.
Barnes and Noble, Books A Million, your local Goodwill Book Store. As soon as you walk through the doors, you breathe in the sweet smell of paper and feel the stress of the outside world just roll off your shoulders.
7. You have multiple memberships.
Who says having memberships at every book store is a bad thing? Membership discounts are the bomb diggity.
8. Amazon Prime is a no-brainer.
As soon as the next book in your favorite series drops, you want that baby in your hands as soon as possible.
9. You would rather curl up with a book than go out.
Loud music and sweaty bodies? More like Tris and Four take on Erudite.
10. You refuse to see the movie before you’ve read the book.
If "The Lightning Thief" is anything to go by, you know the book is way better than the movie.
11. And when you finally see the movie, you can't shut up.
When you do force yourself to go and see the movie, you can't help but point out all the differences and errors.
12. You want Beast's library.
You're main goal in life is to have a library as beautiful as Beast's and anything less is unacceptable.
13. You have no problem reading until 3 a.m.
Finally, once you're into a book, it's hard to put it down. So, staying up until the wee hours of the morning to finish it is nothing new to you. And you wouldn't have it any other way.
