At first it’s kind of hard to think what you could possibly thank your annoying little brother for, but they really do so much for us older sisters that it would be absolutely impossible to think of a life with them not in it. Yeah they suck sometimes, but how can you not love your little brother? It’s impossible. Here are just a few things that came to mind when thanking our little brothers for the little things they do for us.

1. Thanks for protecting me. They may be younger than you, but they still try to act tough whether it be a boyfriend or some random guy who just happens to look at you funny, brothers are the first to step in on and be protective even if they don’t need to.

2. Thanks for being my own personal comedian. Little brothers are obviously hilarious. There is nothing funnier than the stupid, crazy, embarrassing and sometimes annoying things that little brothers do to make you laugh.

3. Thanks for being there when I need you. They are the best at cheering us up. There is no better feeling than getting something sweet and heartfelt from a little brother when they know you’re feeling down. They really do care about us so much.

4. Thanks for taking my side in most arguments. Especially against our parents and even if I’m not right, I can still count on you to have my back.

5.Thanks for covering for me. When they find out your secrets or things that mom and dad shouldn’t know, it might take some bribing, but they always pull through.

6. Thanks for carrying heavy things for me or reaching things from the top shelf. Even though they’re younger, somehow they are so much stronger and way taller making them the perfect candidate.

7. Thanks for letting me know when I don’t look very “conservative.” They can be brutally honest when it comes to the clothes we wear and whether a dress is too short or my leggings aren’t “appropriate.”

8. Thanks for being somewhat patient with me when I try to relate to sports or video game related things. You have taught me the proper way to throw a football and that the A button on the game controller is not what I should be pressing to shoot a zombie.

9. Thanks for not stealing my clothes or shoes. Unlike sisters, little brothers want nothing to do with your wardrobe or accessories so you know you’re safe.

10. Thanks for being my eyes when I was blinded by someone who I thought was great. They are great judges of character and thank goodness because I have dodged many bullets because of my little brother. Brothers really do analyze everyone and they don’t hesitate to give an honest opinion.

11. Thanks for being fun. It’s honestly never a dull moment with a little brother, they make life a lot more interesting.

12. Thanks for keeping me in line because I want to be a good role model for you. We all want to set good examples for our younger siblings and they make us better people because of it. Thanks for being there so I can base my choices off of you.

13. Thanks for being a little rebellious. I love to hear about your experiences and hear your stories, it’s so fun to live through you!

Thanks little brother for being the best little brother an older sister could ask for. I wouldn't have it any other way!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
