13 Mandela Effect Examples That Make You Think

The first time I heard the term "Mandela Effect" was in September when Shane Dawson made a video titled Scary Conspiracy Theoriescentered around this idea of the Mandela Effect. I was intrigued, but didn't give much thought into it. A few days ago, my younger brother showed me a video he found that had some more examples of the Mandela Effect that really got me thinking into this. If you're unfamiliar with the term "Mandela Effect," let me explain. The Mandela Effect is a term given to when a group of people all remember a detail incorrectly. There are many theories that state this is proof of an alternate universe existing.

Here are a few examples of common "misremembered" details that really made me question if I have a bad memory, or if there really is evidence of someone mysterious behind it all.

1. BerenstAin Bears

I swear it has always been the BerenstEin bears. I will fight you on this.

2. It's a beautiful day in THIS neighborhood

Mister Rogers' Neighborhood was one of my favorite shows as a child, and when someone asked me what they theme song was I say "its a beautiful day in THE neighborhood," which is how I vividly remember it.

3. Sex AND the City

I vividly recall it being Sex IN the City!

4. NO, I am your father

OK, I'll be honest, I've never seen Star Wars, however, everyone says LUKE, I am your father. I thought that was the line in the movie!

5. MAGIC mirror on the wall

You have to admit you have always went around saying MIRROR, mirror on the wall!" I was Snow White for Halloween when I was younger and I have a video of myself saying it the "wrong" way.

6. Chartreuse is a yellow-green color?

I always thought it was a dark pink or maroon color?

7. Life WAS like a box of chocolates

Don't lie, you've always said "life IS like a box of chocolates."

8.Interview with THE Vampire

It isn't Interview with A Vampire?

9. Good evening, Clarice

As a huge fan of Silence of the Lambs, I have always quoted "Hello, Clarice."

10. Looney TUnes

Why isn't it TOOns...like carTOONS? This is especially weird to me, because there is a show called Tiny Toon.

11. Febreze only has one "e"?

Doesn't FebreEze make more sense?

12. ChicK-Fil-A

This is one I don't think many people will agree with. Growing up, I vividly remember it being Chic-fil-A, and when my friends started working at Chick-fil-A, I realized it was spelled with a "k." I just thought it was a simple misremembered detail. However, when I was doing research on The Mandela Effect, I came across this theory and I had to include it.

13. If you build it, HE will come

A fan of Field of Dreams anyone? I recall the saying going, "if you build it, THEY will come."

Okay, maybe I am crazy and these are all just things I misremembered in my head. However, isn't it weird that so many people have misremembered these as well? Maybe, just maybe, the theory is right. Maybe there is an alternate universe that caused small details in our lives to have changed over the years? What do you think?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
