13 Gifs that Perfectly Sum Up the Struggle of Choosing Where to Eat

Recently, I had the pleasure of grabbing food with a friend this past week, and the dreaded issue of finding somewhere to eat came up.

Everyone is all too familiar with the struggle that is picking a place to eat. Whether you’re going out with friends, family, or a significant other, the struggle is one and the same. Usually, the conversation is a back and forth of “you pick” and “I don’t know, just pick somewhere!” So, I decided to explain this predicament in a series of gifs that explain exactly how this conversation usually goes down.

1. When someone asks if you wanna grab a bite to eat and you look at them with an “are you serious” face, as if you’d ever turn down food?

2. You agree to get food and leave the conversation with a happy, smug smile on your face like you aren’t eating out for the 500th time this week.

Your excitement for the anticipated meal cannot be contained.

3. But, the person hits you with that “so, where do you wanna go?” and suddenly your brain forgets any type of food or restaurant that exists.

What was the name of that good place with that good food again?

4. You begin to try and figure out what you feel like eating at the moment, hoping it helps you pick somewhere to go.

Are you craving sushi? But, you might also want some good Mexican food? Or, what about pizza? Always down for pizza. Decisions, decisions.

5. You finally decide what KIND of food you want, but now you're struggling with what PLACE to get it at.

"Uh, Google says there's 2,719 Chinese places in our area..."

6. Then comes the struggle of trying to narrow down the options.

This place has great reviews for their food, but terrible service. Another place is affordable, but an hour drive away.

At this point you resort to throwing your computer or phone out the window, because life is too hard and you just want to eat.

7. You decide to call/text the person you’re grabbing food with to see if they have any success at their end, but they’re just as lost as you are.

You had one job!

8. You try and take some deep breaths, hoping you don’t burst an aneurysm in the process, and rethink your approach.

9. Your buddy tells you they’ll pick you up and you guys can decide what you wanna eat on the way.

Sounds like a good plan, hopefully...

10. But instead of the peaceful discussion you were hoping for, you end up fighting the majority of the time.

“You pick!”

“No you pick!”

“Ugh!”

11. Then they begin to accuse you of not looking up enough places, being too picky, and any other excuse they can think of to blame the situation on you.

Um, excuse me?

12. You throw your hands in the air and cry out in exasperation about settling on getting *insert popular fast food place* instead.

McDonald's counts as fine dining right?

13. Both of you decide to get fast food and realize that it was probably the best option anyway.

Because finally eating makes you realize you were letting your "hangry" emotions get the best of you.

Sigh. Till next time.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
