I have recently gained a large interest in makeup/cosmetics. Along with this interest, I have begun to research a cosmetic brand before I use or buy it in order to find out if that company is cruelty-free. I'd like to add that when I say cruelty-free, that includes animal testing. Oftentimes, a product will say "does not test on animals," but they could be owned by a parent company that tests on animals. So when in doubt, look for "cruelty-free." I recently wrote an article regarding four cosmetic brands that are not cruelty-free, and I would like to follow that up with a few lists of cosmetic companies that are 100 percent cruelty-free/vegan and are not owned by a parent company that tests on animals. I do not own all of these products (I wish I did), so I can't give all of them a review, but in my eyes, they are great just for being cruelty-free.
Drugstore Brands
1. E.L.F. - I highly suggest this brand if you are looking for a cheap product with good quality. Usually ranges from $1 to $15 in price.
2. NYX - Again, I highly suggest this brand for their overall quality (NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream is a personal favorite). Price range is around $5 to $25.
3. Sonia Kashuk - If you are in need of some fantastic makeup brushes but don't want to spend tons of money, this is the brand for you. Their cosmetic products are great as well, but I love their brushes (and they're super stylish). Prices range from around $7 to $35.
4. Jordana - This brand contains a lot of dupes for the more expensive brands, and they're worth their price. Prices range from around $5 to $25.
5. Physicians Formula - #1 in bronzer beauty products, I would highly suggest this brand if you're looking for a clean formula to darken your appearance. Price ranges from around $10 to $35.
Mid & High-End Brands
1. Anastasia Beverly Hills - I am a huge fan of this brand and all of their products. They are the leading brow-experts and have patented the "golden ratio" for brows. (I am also a big fan of their liquid lipstick) Prices range from around $7 to $45.
2. NARS - Great quality products, with their base and first products being lipsticks. Prices ranging from around $10 to $50.
3. Urban Decay - This is a makeup that lasts. This product is known very well for its great quality and longevity. Prices range from around $10 to $60.
4. Bare Minerals - This is a personal favorite, and the quality is incredible. Prices range from around $10 to $65.
5. BITE - This company makes some killer (not to animals) lipsticks. Prices range from $10 to $50.
Natural & Vegan Brands
1. W3LL PEOPLE - Prices range from $10 to $90.
2. LILY LOLO - Prices range from $10 to $50.
3. Youngblood - Prices range from $20 to $100.
These are just a few of the many cruelty-free brands out there, and remember to look for the following symbols when purchasing!
