In the wake of the recent tragic events, the hashtag #PrayforParis has been circulating on social media. Now, I don’t know about you, but sometimes it’s hard for me to figure out what to pray for when I am so far removed from a situation. “God, be with Paris,” just doesn’t seem like enough when our hearts hurt so badly for them. Now, I truly believe that God hears and answers every prayer, no matter what we sound like, but it brings Him glory when we pray specifically for others. Here are 12 simple ways we can pour out prayers for Paris.

1. Comfort the families of the deceased.
2. Heal the injured that are in critical condition.
3. Guide the hands of the doctors and nurses.
4. Give strength to the Parisian police and security forces.
5. Give wisdom to the French leadership.
6. Calm the fears of the children.
7. Be with the French military forces.
8. Give closure to individuals struggling with “Why?”
9. Be with the nation as they struggle to go back to work and school.
10. Be with international leaders as they discuss how to move forward.
11. Break down the terrorist groups. Divide them and allow them to see truth.
12. Protect this country from further evils. Build a hedge around it.
